The National Health

Sandy’s solo music blends the honest, open and melodramatic, inspired by theatrical pop singer-songwriters of his teens like MIKA, Marina & the Diamonds and Owl City. Expect melodic hooks and introspection in equal measure. His sound also reflects a love of UK 80s pop, nodding to The Smiths, Tears For Fears and Erasure, and the anthemic alt-rock/indie of the 2000s (Maxïmo Park, The Killers, Frightened Rabbit) with a bedroom-pop twist.

Debut album Imposter Boy channels these influences into a coming-of-age story in the spirit of John Hughes, complete with emotional highs and lows. Finding peers on your wavelength, navigating joy, heartbreak and loss, and fighting imposter syndrome, burgeoning ego and intrusive thoughts in an attempt to reach a place of self-acceptance and deeper perspective. 

Gigs local to Glasgow, Scotland, including King Tuts, Oran Mor and The Record Factory.

Sandy also plays keyboards in the post-hardcore alt-rock band Killing Our Darlings.
