In today's culture, anxiety is a word that has become part of colloquial vocabulary. At any inconvenience or instance of nervousness, the term "anxiety" is invoked and has become overgeneralized. Anxiety disorders are a type of mental illness that severely impact many, characterized by uncontrolled and excessive anticipation, to the extent that it harms a person's ability to do daily activities. Anxiety is not limited to psychological fear and worry, but can also manifest physically as fatigue, difficulty sleeping, and extreme panic attacks. Panic attacks are not just a simple moment of shock- they feel like heart attacks. Symptoms include chest pain, trembling, racing heart rate, and inability to breathe.

This inability to breathe, almost a feeling of paralysis where a person cannot control his/her own body, is what inspires this mix. Titled "Breathe," it is an optimistic take made to highlight the importance of this simple action. This features songs with the words "Swasame," "Saans/Saansein," (meaning breath in Tamil and Hindi, respectively) and "Breathe." Breathing is not even something we give a second thought to, until we catch ourselves either withholding it or gasping for air in times of stress. For people who have experienced panic disorder or anxiety attacks, this is no light matter. Breathing becomes a chore. The purpose of this mix is to raise awareness for this topic but with a relaxing mood, reminding us all to take a breath and also recognize just how crucial this simple action is to someone experiencing serious anxiety.
