The Climb

“Sing Out Loud” is the fourth single from my forthcoming album, “If Not Now, When?”. In the uncertain world we all inhabit, still recovering from the Covid-19 Pandemic, this song is about reconnecting with the world and each other and celebrating the joy of living and the potential of every moment to bring insight. The song explores this theme by focusing on a singer/songwriter and his attempt to come to terms with his own fears and insecurities, to believe in his music and voice and perform again, to 'Sing Out Loud'.

Starting Over

"CircleWalk" is one of the most challenging songs I've ever written. It's a song dealing with communication breakdown in a relationship and an appeal to begin talking again, for real. I've tried to capture both lyrically and musically here the tensions and frustrations that can exist within a relationship, when two people can't find the words to say how they feel and instead walk in circles around what they need to say. This song is about expression, about breaking the silence. The track was recorded in Windmill Lane studios in Dublin and produced by Larry Hogan

CircleWalk

This song is a deep expression of the power of love within us all to overcome whatever challenges life brings. Connecting with this aspect of ourselves, and realising the interconnection of who we are with everyone and the world around us is crucial to the wellbeing and future of our world. In a time of great instability, war, and potential environmental catastrophe, this song is an appeal to 'feel love' again as a starting point for how we respond appropriately to what is going on in the world. The lyrics are spare and direct - but hopefully clear. They are inspired by what is going on today - the upcoming season of goodwill and the journeys home that many people take to family and friends is also an inspiration - but also the many millions around the world who have been forced from their homes (particularly in Ukraine but also parts of Africa, Asia and beyond) and the need to remember them also.

'Dancer’ deals with the challenge of artistic creation, set against the background of a memory of a dance, and the first fires of romantic encounter. It is part love song, part artistic reflection. It was recorded at Dublin's legendary Windmill Lane Studios and produced by award-winning producer Larry Hogan, with final engineering and mastering by acclaimed engineer Braddon Williams, who has previously worked with some of the top artists in the world including Beyonce, Snoop Dogg, Mark Ronson, Il Divo, Wyclef Jean, Billy Joel, Kelly Clarkson, P Diddy, and The Script.

'Time Out' charts the story of an Irish singer/songwriter trying to make a living and dreaming of success. Set in Galway city, the track was widely acclaimed when an earlier version was released on compilation album 'Origin: See the Light'. Leading Irish music magazine Hot Press, in a review of the album remarked "...best of all, my favorite track, 'Time Out' ... daringly tries to capture the sound, sense and smell of Galway in a similar vein to Van Morrison's finest compositions about his native Belfast." The track has a full-band arrangement but with a strong acoustic guitar and vocal core driving it along.. It was produced by award winning Irish producer Larry Hogan, with final mixing and mastering completed by celebrated engineer and producer Braddon Williams whose previous clients include Beyonce, Snoop Dogg, Mark Ronson, Il Divo, Wyclef Jean, Billy Joel, Kelly Clarkson, P Diddy, and The Script.

Time Out (June 23 2023 release)

Sano Hill is a critically acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter. His music has been described as defining “a timeless recipe for original guitar music: inventive, humanist lyrics sung from the gut, then embedded in rhythms to barrage or soothe the soul' (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel). His influences range widely from David Bowie, Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello to Jeff Buckley, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, U2 and Radiohead.
