This is our version of Noel Gallagher’s version of Sade’s version and was recorded as part of The Ceol Train's "12 Ceols of Christmas" where 12 unsigned acts from around Ireland recorded their versions of classic Christmas songs which were then released day by day in the build up to Christmas 2012.

The Tide

San Siro are a Dublin based indie collective bound together by a love of Bavaria, Subway sambos, parallel parking and a questionable work ethic. Oh and music.

In the summer of 2012 a wiley young sprite by the name of Phil Culleton was weary with band life. He decided to record a solo EP. Half way through the solo EP he decided “Na feck this Solo EP” and arrived at the conclusion that the best thing to do would be to form another band and start all over again. He pondered things like “Who’s the best singer I know?” (Ger Carey), “Who’s the best guitarists I know?” (Peter Byrne), “Who’s the best bassist I know?”(Marty Canavan) and “Who are the best and only violin playing sisters I know?” (Fiona and Lisa Shine). A pattern was clearly forming here.

One day while at home watching Italian football , Phil wondered what the band would be called. “I wonder what the band will be called?” he said. With that the commentator said “Welcome to the San Siro” “Hmm San Siro” said Phil “That’ll do.”

Watch out for San Siro in 2013 where there’ll be more free downloads, videos and possibly even a few gigs thrown in.
