The First Day Of The Rest Of Your Life

I believe music is a powerful remedy and a way of expressing the beauty and pain of life throws your way.

When I was a little girl, my grandfather wrote me a letter about dandelions. He described them as dreams in flight, twirling through the wind, each tuft holding a spark of hope.

Dandelions are weeds, but they can survive anywhere, even cracks in cement. They constantly move, flow, and evolve. They adapt to whatever environment they find themselves in, ideal or not. They survive and thrive without needing to be cared for. Their beauty is in their resiliency.

This idea has stuck with me in the years since that letter. Growing up, I moved so much that I felt like an international nomad with no distinct roots or place to call home. Hence the name Sans Roots. Sometimes, it seemed like I just struggled into being, much like the dandelion poking through the cracks.I believe that home is not necessarily a physical location, but rather a person or a state of mind that brings peace and fulfillment.

My music blends my experiences in different cultures and countries with elements of various genres, including soul, 90s hip hop, and contemporary Scandi. My songs are anthems of hope and the ability of the soul to heal. If you love Sarah Bareilles’s “Gravity,” Alanis Morissette’s “Ironic,” or Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill,” my songs are meant for you. I hope they inspire you to keep chasing that silver lining and know that you can overcome anything.
