Dieses Bildungsprojekt lehrt nicht nur die urbane Imkerei um neuen Lebensraum für Bienen zu schaffen, sondern macht in Vorträgen auch darauf Aufmerksam dass unser Konsumverhalten die Ursache für das Bienensterben ist. Eingeschiffte Parasiten, der Einsatz von Pestiziden und Monokulturen in der Landwirtschaft begünstigen diesen Prozess, der nicht nur zum Aussterben der Bienen führen, sondern letztlich auch unser Ende bedeuten könnte. Ohne Bienen wäre ein funktionierendes Ökosystem undenkbar.

Historia:

Cierto día (que ya olvidé cual era), a cierta hora (que ya olvidé cual era) la vi por primera vez. Cabello corto (muy corto), ojos profundos, semblante de tranquilidad. Miraba el móvil afuera de un salón de preparatoria. Me puse a un lado de ella. Me miró con aquellos ojos que penetran el alma y me dijo su nombre: Aquel que jamás podré olvidar. Recuerdo (aunque no quiera) cada letra, cada modo, cada tono que conforma el conjuro que supone su nombre. 

La Maga representa todo aquello que quieres, pero que no puedes tener. 

En menos de seis meses tomó una carretera que la llevó a kilómetros de mí. Un día me desperté de aquel sueño y solo quedaban vestigios de una mujer que parecía nunca haber existido, le seguí el rastro hasta aquella ciudad interminable, aquel Leon furioso y hambriento que reclamaba nuestros cuerpos. La seguí dos veces solo darme cuenta que nada valía la pena.

Recuerdo, solo fragmentos, tu cabello volando con el viento, tu sonrisa espontánea. A lo lejos, aquella ciudad sumergida en la melancolía…

Nunca serás más Maga que aquel atardecer en dónde mirábamos la TV, consumidos por el silencio de lo irremediable. A veces te pienso, y todo se vuelve oscuro, como si se tratase de un conjuro mágico.

Jamás serás más Maga que aquel día que te vi entrar al club y por fin entendí el mandamiento: “Santificaras las fiestas”

Recuerdo… solo fragmentos… de aquella noche oscura… nunca serás más Maga que cuando desapareciste sin dejar rastro alguno, y en mi cabeza, solo el vago rumor de una mujer de piel morena…

A TWICE TOLD TALE

One fine autumn day, Santi (from Asunción, Paraguay) and Tuğçe (from Istanbul, Turkey) have crossed paths in a small town in the middle of the “heartland” US. From this moment on, their lives have become webs of inquiry and revelation as they have jointly devoted forces to mastering the art of musical storytelling. Drawing on a wide palette of ideas and influences, Santi & Tuğçe have created an enchanting world with their music in which the characters are driven by passion and a zest for life. A world where mythical creatures return home after an epic quest to an island surrounded by land, where a wise woman prepares potions to heal the poet, the dreamer, and the disillusioned; where planets collide and create new patterns in the cosmic swirl; where two starry-eyed lovers sail away on a sea turtle spaceship to places unknown; and where self-aware, compassionate robots resolve ancient paradoxes in their mission to rescue humanity.

On this fine autumn day, thirteen years after their fortuitous encounter, Santi & Tuğçe, now based in the ‘center of electronic music’ Berlin, present their latest musical odyssey:  “A Twice Told Tale”. Filled with unmistakable charm and complexity, “A Twice Told Tale” conjures up stories that connect with something deep within the listener. Told with emotional intensity and intricacy, these are songs for and about everyone.

The first track, “Hikâye” (“Tale”) tells a long tale, a tale that is “a little naïve, a little rebellious, and a little tender”. Life is fleeting, leaves will fall, colors will fade, and before we know it, it will be time to depart from this beautiful earth. Yet the tale we have lived to tell and the love we have lived for will remain. 

The second track, “Kuyu” (“The Well”), offers a peak into the deep, invisible corners of the heart, full of yearning and eternal questions, to which no one knows the answers . After all, “who has seen and who has brought news from the dark shore across?”

Santi (from Asunción, Paraguay) and Tuğçe (from Istanbul, Turkey) left their homes to follow their dreams of music and have been road companions and musical partners for more than a decade. Currently based in Berlin after many years of living in the US where they first met, they each bring a vibrant mosaic of influences and ideas from all over the world: soulful melodies, colorful instrumentation, dreamy harmonies, and surgically engineered dance-floor beats, informed by years of Santi’s training in music composition and computer science along with Tuğçe’s studies in jazz vocals and creative writing. To this date, they have performed in many major electronic and world music festivals, clubs, theaters, and concert halls throughout Europe, Asia, North and South America and received critical acclaim worldwide (e.g. Oye! on NPR’s “Latin Roots: Best Alternative Songs of 2019”, Songs for my Grandmother among Beehype’s “Best Albums from Turkey” in 2017).
