Do you know the smell of acetate dubplates?
Nothing seemed as desirable as the heavy loads of metal core acetate dubplates that our idols behind the turntables used to carry into the clubs. Tracks that could not be bought in any store by any money, a glimpse into the superior realms of Drum'n'Bass, the very future of our music, now. Raw tracks, designed to shake the floors, professional DJ tools, sometimes never to be released on the regular market. There we were, ingenious disciples of bass, sweating our service in dusty warehouses, remote clubs, lights flashing through smoke and fog, another version, a beat drop and the place seemed to explode in euphoria. "Reeewind!". And we still do, the media has changed, but we still exorcise the daily grind with raw beats and bass. Take a step into dubplate city. Everybody in the place?

Part I features the title anthem by German legend Bassface Sascha alongside his production partner Franksen and vocals by Paul St. Hilaire aka Tikiman. Viennas Jazzstick master Paul SG teams up with Colognes very own Decon to step back in time, way back into time - heavy support by DJ Marky and LTJ Bukem. Northern light Matik digs deep for the ark of the covenant in Hamburg. Rave candies explode all over Mainz, the capitol of German carnival. Danbwoy in the house. Ultima C from Czech Republic completes this first selection with some uplifting soul power.

Kick it like Ronaldinho!

"Baio destemperado" of Brazilian group Barbatuques was the soundtrack for a Nike spot with Ronaldinho, that came along with the soccer world cup 2006. The official DrumnBass-Bundesliga Champions of 2006 J-Cut (Advanced, Fokuz, Renegade, AJC) & Kolt Siewerts elaborated the faint footwork on this tune with massive Bass & Breaks and sent a very coveted and highly inofficial DrumnBass remix into the game. This racket kept scoring rewinds around the clubs as "Flautas Felizes" by Howie & Chance for quite a while causing some rumours: „Hey DJ, play that song with the flute!

Property rights have been officially cleared now with the Brazil publisher - thanks to MCD - and therefore Santorin is proud to release an official copy into your private record-lineup.

In the business of beefy beats B-complex is definitely a premium provider who mingles fatness with a fair amount of wit to get some serious rear end flesh shaking going on the worldwide dancefloors. B-complex lightens up our daily Drum'n'Bass nutrition with a swinging haunch in the likes of floorfiller "Body Rock" by Andy C. B-complex cooks grimey drums with Atari-style arpeggios to his very unique blend and qualifies for a definite rinseout candidate. "Raindrops" is more on the hyperactivating side, straight and stakkato, making this 12" slice a complete purchase for every chief DJ and Drum'n'Bass lover. The artwork of the cover by http://www.nest-net.de/ says it all, mostly a bit too fierce and edgy for mainstream, these slovakian peppers present a delicacy in the British cuisine of club music. So if you ever tried some slovakian fir-tree-schnaps, which works well for digestion, you'll know that this little country offers some funky and recommendable flavours.
