The first time Martin heard this song on the radio, he called me (Tristan) up and was like, "you HAVE to hear this new song by Alessia Cara! It has this dope 'ay ay ay ahhh' vocal chant in the chorus!" Right away, we thought about how awesome it would be to remix it. Then about a week later, our manager emailed us the track (without knowing how much we liked it) and asked us if we wanted to take a stab at it. No brainer.

Anyways, we had so much fun making this remix! We made a crazy vocal chop in the drop, I played a little guitar, and it was our first time working with a rap. Hope you guys like it, and if you do, PLEASE give it a heart on HypeM. Thanks!

Ein ewig belächeltes Phänomen hat beharrlich Einzug gehalten ins musikalische Bewusstsein von Schallplatten-Freaks: Meditationsmusik. Gerade ein großer Hit bei uns: Die Ashram Tapes von Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda. Und spätestens hier merkt man: Auch in der Meditationsmusik finden sich einzigartige Klänge, fantastische Kompositionen und eben ausserweltliche musikalische Ideen. So entstand ein eigenes Platten- und Tape-Digging Subgenre: PINA. PINA? Das steht für Private Issue New Age und gipfelte bereits in Wiederveröffentlichungen fantastischer Musik von Iasos und Joanna Brouk (beides Numero Group), Emerald Web und Suzanne Ciani (beides Finders Keepers) und einer tollen Compilation auf Light In The Attic Records. Auf Recherchereisen durch die USA hat sich Sadhana dem Thema angenommen, Archive besucht und selber archiviert, was er zu hören bekam. In seiner zweiten Heimat Indien liegt wahrscheinlich die Wurzel der Meditationsmusik. Da liegt es nahe, endlich zu kontextualisieren und die nötigen Verbindungslinien zu ziehen. Daher hat Sadhana im Auftrag der Yogi Tea Foundation das Sikh Music Archive gegründet, von dem er uns sicher berichten wird. Und wir trinken trotzdem Bier dazu und keine Green Smoothies, damit wir das Thema aus wohlwollender Distanz betrachten können.
