Ever wonder if this new love is real or if you’re making something out of nothing? Connecting for real and for good has always felt so vulnerable and uncertain and conditional, to my anxiety brain it feels like trying to hold onto vapor. “Grasping for a Rainbow” seemed like the perfect way to describe it.

Rainbow

"​Fuse Into Me​" was written with Ashley Jones (Big Island) and produced by Ukrainian producer Nick Mykyta Honchar. Ashley wrote the lyrics, which describe a somewhat toxic new relationship, because both people have been hurt in the past and are wary of the pain that can happen anytime you fall for someone, but they soon find that it is worth it to attach to someone again and use their experiences to grow together. I wrote the music and recorded vocals and guitar, and Nick expertly made it as lush and large as you ​hear it now​, slide guitar and everything. It is the 3rd single from my upcoming album "New Moon", out October 24th! 

Fuse Into Me

A simple-ish sticky note to remind myself that you can't just barrel through overwhelm- breaking down is ok and avoiding it just makes it worse. Like trying to hold in a volcano. Sometimes little Sara needs a reminder that she's been on the treadmill too long and its time to get off. Thank goodness for Abby Gundersen's gorgeous strings.​

At The Seams

Growing up in Colorado and driving up the canyon or hiking up Grey Rock was always my way of getting out of my head and getting some perspective. Now its driving up a very different mountain to get a very different view, but it always helps cool me off (literally and figuratively) and shows me my smallness but also that there is a path through whatever I'm stuck on, and I can see it better from up high. birds are smart like that. I was lucky enough to have Xander Hitzig on mandolin and fiddle here!​

Get Up High

I wrote this laying in bed at midnight one night this past spring. The lyrics are some of my favorite ones to hum all day, listening to the news, hearing all the anxiety voices about how everything sucks and before I get down the spiral of how hard life is, I remind myself that 'life is still good', despite all the bad- the world is still spinning, and I can change. Isn't that the most important thing? Shout out to Ashton Yarbrough on piano 🎹​

Still Good

This one is one of my faves I've ever written - the bridge is weird and talks about extraterrestrials (you'll have to listen to make it make sense lol) but the sentiment is very me- why didn't life come with an expiration date- I'd love to just KNOW how much time I have instead of trying to rush or make up for all the mistakes I've made when maybe its not possible, or maybe its SO possible and I should stop worrying. Spoken like a true hypochondriac and anxious person. Working on just being thankful for the time I have, and this song helps. Strings by Michelle Packman, who did the arrangement for "Stay Right Here" in 2020, and is a world-renowned string queen.

I'm also a vocal coach, supporting the vocal instrument and nervous system of singers for sustainable vocal expansion and transformation.
