Tel Aviv based artist Saraga arrives on Crosstown Rebels for the first time with Love And Happiness. It marks his only release in 2021 so far, highlighting a standout moment for the Israeli talent.

Saraga spoke on how each track came together, stating: “Al Green is a huge source of inspiration, so Love And Happiness felt very natural. Mujer was inspired by places like Tulum and Bogotá, which is why I chose that vocal. All Day Everyday came from a pure moment when my friend started to sing on my track and Mantra was created for the desert, as I was planning to play at Burning Man.” Love And Happiness manifests as a minimal-leaning dance cut, with low-slung kick-hat pairings residing next to shimmering vocals throughout. Mujer brings an energetic, late-night feel before All Day Everyday arrives as an out-and-out club number. Gritty basslines merge with echoing vocal tones, whilst Mantra transports us thanks to Saharan like whispers and tribal-flecked drum patterns.

Saraga is a well-known regular in Tel Aviv’s thriving musical scene. His productions have landed on established labels such as Nervous Records, Robsoul Recordings and Body Parts, catching the eye of leading tastemakers in the process including Marco Carola, Ricardo Villalobos and The Martinez Brothers to name a few. Performances across Ibiza, Paris, Mykonos, London, New York and a host of other global cities have brought his sound to international audiences, whilst 2022 looks set to be his biggest year yet with a huge collection of original releases, remixes and collaborations on the cards.

Saraga heads Around The Sun on this escapist new EP for Guy Gerber's revered Rumors label. Saraga is an artist based in Tel Aviv and who releases on esteemed labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Robsoul Recordings, Nervous & Body Parts. He has a well crafted and emotive sound rich in lush synth work. 

Clarity In Motion opens with thinking synth modulations and a heartfelt female vocal. The drums are warm and lock you in for a sublime ride. Around The Sun (Run It) brings an immersive vocal over deep house drums. The track is playful, with steamy lyrics and a smattering of percussion next to smeared, expansive cosmic pads. On Sin City, things take a darker tech house twist with snappy drums and hits and a monologue adding tension. Los Ojos Azules closes out with something of a humid Latin vibe - the drums roll, the percussion is characterful and vocals tease and please. 

These are four hugely original tracks from this ever more essential artist.

The latest transmission on Body Parts comes from rapidly rising Tel Aviv producer Saraga, who builds on a strong body of work released to date on labels such as Whitech, Decay Records, Plattenbank, and most recently via Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat. With a keen focus on rolling grooves and hypnotic atmospheres, his distinctive sound fits in perfectly with the Body Parts narrative.

The Pikes EP opens up with the title track, where a smooth and steady minimal house groove undulates through a hazy landscape of fragmented speech samples and distant textures.

"Full Of Candys" is sharper in comparison, using a snapping beat and fulsome bass to command an energetic groove aimed squarely at the peak of the dancefloor without compromising on the tripped-out qualities that embed his productions.

By way of contrast, "Better Sun" rides on disco-flavoured drums and uses some slick, head-turning touches of melody to punch through the mid range and add a sprightly edge to the situation.

"SIS" finishes the EP off with a subtle swing, looming sub bass and a delicate female vocal to create an alluring mood, perfect for deeper moments in the dance.
