A Dance

This semester I have gotten to know what it is like teaching a fifth grade class. I started writing this piece with goofy characteristics and the occasional dissonance and soon started to see parallels to my students in class with the music. Through out the piece there are different characters sounding and conversing across the band, quite similar to my fifth grade class of diverse personalities. Through out the semester I have had to learn how to stitch these personalities together to keep a cohesive classroom. Sometimes there are personality clashes, but the classroom keeps functioning. This song is dedicated to all of the teachers who have had to learn and master, Classroom Management.
