Diving deep into the heavenly, surreal universe of the German duo Trashlagoon and their first release on Délicieuse.

The title 'Struggle' is the leading single extracted from their album 'Blue Empire' set to release January 2014. Sebastien and Niklas deliver us a sleek and euphoric sound, supported by the effectiveness of the piano gimmick. We admire their powerful yet subtle identity, a crossroads between UK garage and German deep house influences.

Madmotormiquel, commander in chief of the leading label URSL (Soukie & Windish, NU, Lake People, etc.) honors us by taking on a spin of the title. His personal touch brings a new energy to the original, with a backdrop of a racing deep house beat. Supported by names like Hannes Fischer, Nico Stojan, and Rampue.. this track already proves to be promising.

Our man, Viken Arman, reinterprets the title in a romantic and dreamlike way, utilizing his signature "pianistic" style (the harpsichord). Once again, we’re blown away by the quality of his production. Always polished and in accordance with the original track’s approach.

This release well identifies with the duo’s universe that they’ve since portrayed in their August release of "Daily Winter". For the upcoming months we’ve got only good things in store : a live exclusive in Paris, another single set for November, and a vinyl release exclusively available on the Délicieuse..

Get Physical's last delivery 2014 was, yet again, an EP that strays a bit off the beaten track. For this last installment, GPM290, Junge Junge has called upon Australian native Kyle Pearce to set some velvety vocals to a toned-down, bittersweet delight of a track.

The ‚Beautiful Girl‘ EP opens with its namesake creation, a thumb piano-laden tune decorated by some seriously smoky singing just waiting to transport you far away. It's followed by a handful of distinct reworkings, by the likes of Tube & Berger who plunge the track underwater and turn it into warm-up material, while Audiofly takes on a dub remix and spins the song on its head to give it a new psychedelic identity. Meanwhile, Blond:ish throws it into darker terrain only to have the ‚Beautiful Girl‘ lifted up by Junge Junge once again thanks to a slightly different version that turns it into danceable AM epic by way of some wisely-placed kicks and claps. The EP ends on this sweetest of high notes, putting a neat, shiny bow on this.

Monosole Music presents the fifth in a series of royalty free drum hits and drum breaks recorded directly to tape, mixed using analogue outboard gear, mastered onto a 12" dub plate and finally sampled back off of the vinyl.

Volume six contains 204 original drum breaks created using brushes. The tempos range from 85 to 100 bpm, and were specifically selected to represent the boom bap genre. Each break is provided as a pre-vinyl master and a vinyl-pressed version.

‘Mumbai’ further exemplifies the band’s unique sound with solid performances and a nod to their jazz roots. 

The soaring, soulful vocals of Frida Touray are once again at the heart of the song, this time detailing otherworldly themes that seem particularly potent at this moment.

 

Touching on an idea of a non-material universe, discouraging the labelling and judgment that sometimes prevents one from experiencing a deeper truth. 

 

Native Dancer’s cumulative observations, thoughts and words are what shapes their world. In that, globally, we are all participants of reality. Only through our own fears do we rebuild over again in dysfunctional ways. Often failing to see that we have a choice, a choice to rebuild the world through the state of wonder.

 

‘Mumbai’s outro features percussionist Kaw Secka playing the Gambian talking drum, an important feature, referencing Frida's paternal Gambian heritage. 

 

On their journey up until now, the band played a string of shows in the US, including SXSW and Afropunk Festivals, alongside Shabaka Hutchings (Sons Of Kemet), Moses Boyd and recent Jazz FM breakthrough award winner, Nubya Garcia. They have also performed at WOMAD and Love Supreme Festival as well as opening slots in London for NAO at Somerset House and Lianne La Havas at EARTH.

Emanating from south London's "Hilly Fields of Lewisham", Sarah Williams White is a singer songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. 
After a string of self-released singles and live tours including UK support for Dan Le Sac vs Scroobious Pip and Lex Record's Golden Rules, her debut album was released in November 2015 on local label First Word Records; written, produced and performed by Sarah in her home studio, with the addition of formidable breaks drummer, engineer and husband Timmy Rickard. The fantastical 'Of The New World' mini album presented a uniquely intimate talent to the experimental soul underground, one with earthy spirit and one that is boldly herself.

Succeeded by a number of songwriting collaborations including with brother producer Paul White (Danny Brown, Sudan Archives), Williams-White further demonstrates her instinct for an off-centre catchy hook.

2022 will see a return from the Londoner with her signature buttery lathering of vocals, cutting beats and atypical pop sensibilities. 
Her forthcoming solo record 'Unfathomable' offers up escapism from the mundane, enticing us to connect with our natural planet in this prevalent time, via the eyes of a new mother. Sarah is establishing herself as one of the UK's most interesting and irresistible experimental pop talents.
