Hello Friend,

This story starts with a boy and a girl. Not surprising, it almost always does but hey, it’s not my fault life constantly feels like a John Green book. Anyways, back to the story. I’m the girl, obviously.

I’ve always considered myself to be a “good person”/ Webster dIctionary defines on as, “an honest, helpful, or morally good person”, I’d like to think I fall under that category. But I also make mistakes, and after realizing one particular mistake I made had hurt someone (that’s the boy) in the process, I started to really second guess that notion. Maybe I wasn’t so “good” after all.

I spent a lot of nights thinking about it. What do I do? What do I say? Should I call? Text? Not say anything? Write a letter? How do you tell someone you’re sorry after you hurt them? That's like cutting off someone's arm and then saying “lol oops sorry dude my bad!” I know I wouldn’t believe it if it were me, so why should he? 

The only option I had, apart from writing a letter (which I did) was writing this song. I Don't know if the boy has heard it and maybe he never will, but what I do know is this: sometimes we mess up. Sometimes we hurt people we care about. Sometimes we mean to. Sometimes we don’t. There's no way to take back those faults, but what we can do is try our best to fix them. To help heal those we hurt and to forgive ourselves for the things we’ve done wrong. 

Maybe I’m not a “good person” but I care enough to try to be, so I guess I can’t be that bad. 

Anyways, my coffee is getting cold so I should go.
