Mary Georgeson's hymn, Millie Godger, Da Muckle Reel o Papa, Da Back Reel

I learnt Mary Georgeson’s hymn and Da Muckle Reel from archive recordings of Papa Stour fiddler George Peterson. Millie Godger is a ‘mill tune’, a listening tune composed with the sound of a traditional Shetland water mill in mind. The Back Reel is actually traditionally played after the Finnigirth Muckle Reel, and indicated to the dancers that it was ‘back’ to the Shetland reel.
