Sarah P. revisits “Love Profusion”, a song from Madonna’s album American Life, originally written by the Queen of Pop herself and her long-term collaborator Mirwais Ahmadzaï. 

Sarah chose this song because it feels more contemporary than ever. In her own words:
“Our world has been turned upside down for more than a year. Naturally, we’ve realised that we need to turn towards the more familiar, the constant forces in our lives - those who give us joy and balance in abundance through the simplest gestures. That’s why I chose this song - because it echoes more intimately at this moment in time.”

On the production side, Sarah worked with the Berlin-based producer Minna Music (aka Bibi Vongehr). Their vision was to create a warm, confidential atmosphere through 90s inspired minimalistic soundscapes, glistening synths and ethereal vocals. 

The vocals were recorded at Artracks Studios in Athens. The song was mixed by Minna Music and mastered by Ted Carfrae (Dionne Warwick, Doris Day, Lena Platonos).

“With the utmost respect to the original, I’m releasing a cover for “Right Where It Belongs”. This is my take on what one would call a “masculine song”. A musical cross-dressing, a matrimonial service between received ideas & non-conformist moods. This is my effort to break from the cage I’m put into because of genetics and social stereotypes. While the world is making steps towards understanding and empowering its women, there’s a long way to go. And I’m here for it.” (Sarah P.)

It’s been a year since Sarah P.’s first solo album Who Am I. A year since she asked “Who am I? Who are you? Who are we?”
