Many of the worlds best DJs are the artists who fall in love with electronic music at an early age and the truly great ones are the ones who maintain that same level of teenage infatuation with the scene throughout their lives. So with that in mind we’re delighted to welcome the ever passionate Andrea Oliva to Data Transmission today as we exclusively premiere the title track from his new collaborative EP, Turn Off The Dawn.

Following the announcement of his upcoming debut album via Objektivity the new EP sees the seasoned Swiss producer take a weird and wonderful ride through the everything we love about contemporary Tech-House. Punchy percussion and a dreamy synth line underpin the smooth voice of DT favourite,and former Azari & III member Fritz Helder, for a number sure to get you yearning for a trip to the White Isle this summer.

mono no aware (もののあわれ) is the first compilation to be released on PAN, collating unreleased ambient tracks from both new and existing PAN artists.

Featuring Jeff Witscher, Helm, TCF, Yves Tumor, M.E.S.H., Pan Daijing, HVAD, Kareem Lotfy, ADR, Mya Gomez, Sky H1, James K, Oli XL, Bill Kouligas, Flora Yin-Wong, Malibu, and AYYA, the compilation moves through more traditional notions of what is called ’ambient’, to incorporating wider variations that fall under the term.

“Mono no aware”, ‘the pathos of things’, also translates as “an empathy toward things", or "a sensitivity to ephemera”. A term for the awareness of impermanence, or the transience of things. A meditation on mortality and life's transience, ephemerality heightens the appreciation of beauty and sensitivity to their passing. In investigating the passing of time, the boundaries between memory and hallucination become blurred; between fiction and reality. The movement of time transforms into an eternal present.

The album is mastered and cut by Rashad Becker at D&M, featuring photography by Molly Matalon and design by Bill Kouligas. A limited version of 100 copies will be released as a special art edition in collaboration with Mount Analog for the LA Art Book Fair 2017, before going on general release.

Slices of a Dog Records' third release is by our favorite dawg on the planet right now: @jarrenc from LA, who takes all of that legendary g-phonk legacy from his hometown, and transforms it into something very contemporary and fresh, crafted with tons and tons of style and finesse.

This one is something more than a debut EP, displaying Jarren’s talent, skills, culture, and fine taste, over a diverse range of styles: from that fat funk, to uplifting house, to old school electro vibes u can easily pop-lock to.

As a plus, the project features guest musicians appearances from veteran maestro Jacob “JD” Crouch on sax, LA legend @benedek_music on guitar, and label’s co-founder @brothermartino on flutes.
