Baba Nam Kevalam is a Universal Mantra given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti to uplift the mind away from mundane thoughts and prepare it for Meditation and inner attention. Singing creates a feeling of bliss and peace in the mind and therefore Baba  as we call our Guru Shrii Shrii Anandamurti) said that we have to" manifest the Glory of Kiirtan".

The dance is called Lalita marmika - voice of the inner spirit.  This gracious dance was invented by Parvati and it arouses deep feelings of love and devotion - Bliss.

Baba Nam kevalam is a universal mantra given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti. 
Baba means "my beloved" and it refers to the Supreme, the Devine self within, Nam is "name" or vibration and Kevalam is "only".

This is a kirtan version of my first album of devotional songs in Swedish called “Alla Längtar Vi”. In this album the music has kiirtan sung to it. The name of the album is “We All Yearn”, referring to our inner constant subtle yearning for the supreme being, the magician of all magicians, the Lord of Lords.

Kiirtan is the singing of a mantra aloud while ideating on the Supreme Being. It inculcates the feeling of bliss and prepares the mind for meditation, because in performing it all the motor and sensory organs are engaged and directed towards the Supreme. It can be sung and danced anywhere, any time, but the best time is just before meditation.

The mantra used for kiirtan is: Bábá Nám Kevalam. Bábá means “my most beloved One,” Nám means “name of” or “to identify with”, and Kevalam means “only”. So the meaning of the mantra is “My most Beloved is the only One.” The ideation is: “Everywhere I look, in everything I hear, feel, see, taste and smell, I perceive that one Supreme Consciousness which pervades all things.” Kiirtan has many benefits. It purifies the mind and prepares it for meditation, accelerating the speed of movement toward the Supreme.
