Dilemma Podcast 055 Sofia Alcon from Buenos Aires (Argentina) Born in the city of San Pedro, Buenos Aires, Sofia Alcon is a techno DJ and producer since 2019. Due to the dedication, compromise and love she feels towards this music, she has signed with European and Argentine labels such as; Underground BeatCode Records, Oxytech Records, Defmain Music, Fcz record Dissident Movement,Survival Alliance  DGTL, Aridorecords and many more. 

Sofia has performed in different cities across her country, in Santa FÃ© and Buenos Aires, and she was able to share the booth with other great local artists. She has done numerous radio podcasts and cycles for Bagradio, El galpÃ³n techno, Materia negra, Bbk techno, Analord, Technoelectrosound, Soultrip Urbeat, Detekted, Planeteklipse, kritical, Private techno, Anxiety, Ground, Darwest, Demon Roof, Cordoba techno, Apical records, Silent space records, Out System and more. She dreams of being able to dedicate her entire energy and make a living out of techno. 

At the moment, this is still a dream, but she is confident that one day this will be her reality. The love and respect that Sofia has for music and other artists is truly inspiring.

On Saturday,  April 2, 2022 REFORM will be taking over Catch One’s bustling bi-level venue with a 4-room House + Techno lineup. Located on Pico Avenue near Downtown Los Angeles, Catch One originally opened in 1973 and was the longest-running black gay dance bar in the city. It now serves as one of LA’s premiere multi-purpose venues, making it an ideal space for REFORM to host 20+ Techno, House, and Experimental artists across four rooms.

Juliet’s love for the music goes back to the mid 90s, house scene. She was a regular in LA. house clubs, such as the Arena and Carnival. By Juliet’s early 20’s she became a well-known House Dancer in the L.A. underground scene, attending just about every underground house party. 

Soon, Juliet found herself working as part of the promotions street team for one of the biggest electronic music promotional companies of its time, “Go Ventures”, who puts on festivals such as: Monster Massive, Together As One, & The Love Festival (L.A.)(L.V.)(H.I.)(C.O.). As for residencies she is a resident at “Thick”(L.A.), “Open House” (L.A., “FlyBall”(L.A.) “House on the Eastside”(L.A.), “Local Love” (L.A.), as well as at her own, “One Hundred”(L.A.).

Juliet also runs her own Los Angeles based event series called, ‘Jackin' Jills’, a platform that provides women-identified DJs and dancers to share their talent with the community. It was founded in 2019 when Juliet saw the lack of womxn/POC representation in the scene, and found the opportunity to create further representation within our community.

Sara Simms captivates the world as an innovative DJ, turntablist and electronic music producer. She's a multi-instrumentalist who's known for her love of music technology.

Best known for her techno sets and turntablism skills, Sara makes her mark in music by crafting diverse sets created by multi-deck mixing. Her passion for music has led her to tour through North America, Japan and Europe. She's founded her own label, Simmetry Sounds to release productions and collaborations. 

Sara has an intriguing background as a jazz guitarist turned turntablist. She's competed in DJ battles in both Canada and the US, and was a runner in up the 'Scratch' – The Ultimate DJ Contest. She's recently played sets for Allen and Heath's live broadcast at ADE, at Charivari Detroit, on Detroit's 313.FM, at Techno Taco Tuesday for MNTRA in Las Vegas and has toured through the UK with Mixed In Key.

Sara's career highlights include: playing at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, appearing on DJ QBert's 'Skratch University', judging the Canadian DMC Championships, and playing at AIR (Tokyo).
