Since the first Battle Of The Year (BOTY) took place in 1990, the annual breathtaking competition of international dance formations has become one of the biggest world championships of breakdance.To celebrate this years 25. Anniversary duly, the 2014 soundtrack compilation contains a fresh collection of international Breaks and Funk productions. 

This years highlights include new songs by Michal Menert & Break Science from the USA, Electrobreaks by Serenity out of Brazil as well as songs taken from the new solo albums by polish Power Breaks matadors DJ Pablo and DJ M@R. Smoove is the archetypal B Boy made good. Despite his huge international success with Smoove & Turrell and his ability to craft jazz, soul, latin, hip hop and funk into world beating dancefloor killers – he can still be found every weekend he’s not playing live jumping on a plane or a train to go and DJ in Germany , Russia , Italy, Ibiza or just down to Manchester, Bristol or London wherever his diary tells him he has to go..

Wherever it is, his incredible skills behind the decks mean that he gets asked back and the breadth of the music seamlessly joined by his turntablist skills jumps from disco to funk, jazz to soul, hip hop to house and back again.

The endless flights, trains and hotel rooms are dead time to some DJ’s but Smoove is always creating new tunes for his set on the fly and working his different influences into the remixes and productions he is currently on. There were at least 40 remixes that could have been included on this album but in the end he chose the ones that worked best together and made the album flow like one of his legendary DJ sets.

The album contains a number of exclusives including the Smoove remix of the new Third Degree track and a killer smoove remix of Afrka Bambataa, Charlie Funk and King Kamonzi. The Smoove remix of Da Wiesel has only ever been available on vinyl before and his amazing remix of Electric Empire remains unreleased (unbelievably) in many European territories.

Smoove started his recording career for the legendary Acid Jazz label releasing two albums as a solo artist before signing to Jalapeno Records with partner John Turrell to release two hugely successful Smoove & Turrell albums. Their last album was playlisted extensively at Radio 2 and tracks from the album have been used in more than ten film and TV syncs – making Smoove & Turrell the new darlings of the LA film community.

Smoove is touring with the Smoove & Turrell live band, recording the next S&T album, DJ’ing every weekend and he also just became a dad. Where does he find the time ?

Born 1976 (offical year of the funky child) and bred in Melbourne, Sard Boogie started out as an Mc under the name "Sard" in the early 90's Producing and performing many live show's with ru C.L, Rema, Ill Kane, Dj Fx, Dj Excel and International act"Mystik Journeymen". From 1993-1996 a member of the Melbourne Based crew"Ruffnexet" , including interstate show's, an appearance on ABC tv, Numerous Live performances on Melbourne radio shows "Steppin 2 tha am" "Tha Formula" and the roof tearing show @ the renowned Hip hop reggae venue "Big Bamboo" in 1995. Performing as a solo artist playing live show's at Revolver, The Croft, 303 and Honky Tonk's to Name a few, also as a resident Dj at "Suede" and"White Rabbit" with "Fabric Soul's" Playing Funk, Rare groove, Break's, Hip hop and whatever else floats his boat. Sard Boogie has a strong Hip hop background but this dose not stop him from freakin the funk in other genres, whether it's in his sets or with his own production.

A slick blend of Hip Hop, Funk Fusion, strong vocals with sharp carefree lyrics, Sard Boogie is all about the music......................Man!
