Minimal House 2022 - Part 1

Cuttin' Headz continues to define the contemporary house landscape with another superb EP, this time from Toman. The Dutchman has been hugely prolific since breaking through and his unique take on house and techno has led him to much-renowned outlets like No Art, Moscow & Eastenderz.

This fresh new EP opens with Madrugada, a tightly coiled bit of tech funk. The kicking drums and razor sharp hi hats are detailed with cool female vocal stabs, whirring effects and dramatic fills that really make the track pop. Better Is Weather is a much deeper tune but one that still packs a punch. The super balmy pads bring a nice summery feel to the breezy late night grooves and hints of garage skip.

All in all, another incredible standout EP from all involved.

Thomas Garcia delivers his debut EP on Buriloop Records with three massive tunes that will get any dance floor pumping! We start of with 'Unintentional', a collaboration with Annata that could best be described as harmonious combination between peak hour tech grooves, minimal synth stabs, psychedelic pads and dreamy vocals. Following this masterpiece we have 'DMB' which uses sexy guitar riffs, soulful vocals and a powerful rolling bassline to make this one what we like to call an absolute funky groover! Finally the third track 'El Viento' seals this project by being the deepest track on the EP with rolling toms as the bassline, dreamy synth work and trippy whispers.

Since his massive ‘Works On Sunday EP’ from the middle of 2016 Archie’s star has risen considerably, peaking with his inclusion at no.70 on RA’s end of year DJ Poll. Here he steps up for EP duties once more on his spiritual home of Fuse London; ‘Driven to Distraction’ kicks things off with a bubbling acidic groover while ‘Telegram’ also harnesses the power of the 303 albeit in a more trippier form. ‘Channelled’ rounds things off with an elegantly floated groove, it’s melodic elements and aquatic kick heralding the shift in seasons beautifully.

Seth Troxler’s club focussed label, Play It Say It, welcomes a master of stripped back and dubbed out tech grooves in the form of Seb Zito, while Fuse boss Enzo Siragusa steps up to remix. 

A core part of the world-renowned Fuse party crew, Zito's distilled productions are perfectly functional, boasting the sorts of subtle charms that make them truly irresistible to legions of dancers. His warm sound has landed on the Fuse and Infuse labels as well as Rawax and Kaoz Theory. He runs his own Seven Dials label and is as revered for his resident sets in London and Ibiza as he is his studio sounds.

The excellent ‘On It’ opens things up with tightly coiled drums, adorned with bumping kicks that immediately get you moving. A soul infused vocal brings plenty of cool to the track whilst dreamy pads add warmth and depth. A dub is also included in the package for those darker, late night sets. Both versions are sure to become club mainstays. 

Remixing is Enzo Siragusa, the man behind the internationally renowned Fuse brand and a driving force in the contemporary house and techno scene. He DJs around the world, hosts parties across Europe and is known for digging deep. His version is more zoned out thanks to the swirling pads, with the orignal's vocal coming at you in a dreamlike fashion, as the knotted bass hammers home the groove. 

This is an essential release that is sure to go on to big things this summer.
