Every second Tuesday evening I host a energetic & meditative dance session at b23 Space to shake off the tensions of every-day life & connect with our bodies in a mindful & playful way. We start in a circle, enter into movement through gentle guided exercises, move through music, and eventually arrive in silence. No phones, no talking, just us and our bodies moving, feeling, connecting. Ecstatic dance meets Techno.

🌈Dieses Set ist auf dem Saunafloor des Zugvögel Festivals entstanden – ein Ort zum Entspannen, also eigentlich kein richtiger Floor. Genau das wollte ich bewahren und habe etwas gespielt, das alle zum Träumen einlädt. Es war schön zu sehen, wie die Stimmung gewachsen ist: Pärchen, die sich geküsst haben, meine Freunde, die sich alle versammelt haben, und meine eigene Freude, meine liebsten Stücke aus vielen Jahren, gemischt mit neuen Tracks, zu spielen und zu genießen. Viel Spaß beim entspannen und träumen🧡🌈

Zugvögel Saunafloor 2025

Entstanden inmitten von Bäumen, Moos und Magie – ein Wald voller Freund:innen, ein Kreis voller Wärme.
Dieses Set ist ein Fragment, ein flüchtiger Moment eingefangen in Klängen. Die Technik hat nicht alles festgehalten – das Aufnahmegerät war nur bedingt aufnahmefähig –, doch das Wesentliche blieb: die Stimmung, das Miteinander, der erste Herzschlag einer Idee.
Es war mehr als Musik. Es war ein Grundstein, gelegt mit Lachen, Bass und Blicken, die sagen: „Da kommt noch was.“

In the Beginning There Was Techno – by Tornadotoni

This set was recorded for the Techno-Sekretariat — episode #10 on YouTube — with Techno as the main theme.
It reflects my own definition of Techno — the way I experienced it in the early ’90s.

Back then, Techno could be very fast, and also warm, emotional, and full of depth.
I remember it as something that carried energy and soul at the same time — an umbrella for many electronic styles that were just emerging and constantly evolving.

In the early ’90s, there were usually three floors: a Techno floor, a House floor, and a Chill-out room with Ambient DJs.
On the Techno floor, you’d hear everything — Progressive House, Acid, Trance, Breakbeat, Detroit Techno and many more — all mixed together. It wasn’t about the big drop yet; it was a journey, one where you never knew exactly where you’d end up.

That sense of exploration still fascinates me today. I love sets that take you by the hand and lead you somewhere unexpected — and that’s what I try to keep alive in my own way.

I get bored with sets that feel predictable — like films where you already know the ending. That’s why this mix includes moments that surprise, wake you up, or take you somewhere different. That’s my signature: I play eclectically, following emotion rather than formula.

For me, Techno is something that shaped my life — it took me around the world, connected me with a community, and gave me that unique sense of freedom. Without Techno, I probably wouldn’t even live in Berlin.

So yes — in the beginning there was Techno. At least for me.
