»Eternal Summer« (2019–20)

The favorite toy of my childhood was a red kaleidoscope. Its colored crystals or glass objects
kept creating new patterns by spinning. I could play with it for hours in the hot summer
days of Tehran. Later, as an adult, I could better understand why a child is fascinated by
such a toy, even though the material is very limited: It is simply about the joy of discovering
the new despite the unchanging elements. You can only discover the varied when
everything on the surface seems to be the same. "Kaleidoskop I" for solo viola is the first piece of the Kaleidoskop-cycle for solo players. (Sarvenaz Safari)
