Advancing into the EP we encounter the soul uplifting 'I Wish I Knew'. A bit reminiscent of summer and its glory days, this record is filled with synths, catchy vocals & that old school groove. Rounding off the EP we have 'Can't You See'. A proper mellow deep house cut. While the EP holds his basis within the deeper sounds, AZIZ brings multiple vibes & energy levels to the table. Berlin duo Kolett & Zadak continue their hot streak on Exploited Ghetto following the success of Amplifire and Azizam with another formidable creation.

Familiar faces behind the decks at clubs in their home town like Kater Blau, Sisyphos or Ritter Butzke, theirs is a deep and heady sound. Roadhouse rocks a swung triplet rhythm which immediately makes it stand out along with its sinister off-beat bassline. On-beat hats further the jarring feel as hypnotic, warped vocal cuts and sustained synth notes heighten the eerie vibe. It’s a moment of relief from the sonic tension when the epic bassline cuts its way into the heart of the track, with the commanding vocal refrain coming out of nowhere to lay the icing on the cake. Wobbly 8-bit synths add more texture before the brooding bassline grows in swagger with metallic layers swirling out of the ether to bolster its power. Despite its vigour, it’s somehow understated, with its tense feel doing away with the need for excessive power.

Whitesquare deliver a superb rework, taking elements from the original and marrying them to a more straight-up, rolling 4/4 groove that’s laced with delicious conga rolls. Pretty chime sounds play out the chord progression and build the emotion as those vocal cuts are boosted up cleverly to a lead refrain status. A bold marimba melody cuts into play, spaciously reverbed, before a plump analog bassline pumps its way into action. A careful, uncluttered arrangement and excellent mixing allows each element to shine beautifully, with subtle field recording type nature sounds and well-placed FX filling in the gaps perfectly.

trndmsk: What inspired you to produce the Remix?

David Dorad and Sebo: For us it is the best track on the EP. And we thought we may can create a special rmx sound/style for the guys of Fat Cosmoe.

Where did you record it? 

We did a lot of sessions together in our studio at „Holzmarkt“. But as well some session everyone on its own. So the RMX got a special sound of each of us. Our best and lovely neighbor Sascha Cawa helped us a lot Thank you Sascha !

And how?

With Ableton live and some special external devices.

How did you get in contact with the artists?

Fat Cosmoe are a part of URSL. URSL did a great album with the guys and a super nice release as well. So Fat Cosmoe are part of the URSL family for sure. We know them for long and we diceded to do a Remix together (David & I). We are very happy that the guys ask us for a RMX.

Are you working on any other projects?

We are part of a creative collective with a lot of creative input, so there are always projects and sessions.

As we lead into fall, we are bringing you a slice of our dear friend Mike Ravelli which we’ve been road testing and tuning for more than a year.   
Mike Ravelli is a master of moving crowds & driving them wild in clubs and undergrounds throughout Amsterdam & China. Grooving in the booth for almost 20 years, his enthusiasm speaks to his commitment that his music should build up a sweat. 

Mike Ravelli’s latest original mixes does so literally from the first beat; music and dancer, fall immediately into a symbiotic relationship from moment one.  Driving sounds through hardware and software, his music is familiar and fresh, comforting and confronting all at the same time and a vibe that seems to resonate on dance floors worldwide.  And each track seemingly lives in its own environment, inspired by a place where Mike has been before.

When listening to Nest you can imagine a conventional Amsterdam club, resident DJ grooving to the track and a dance floor of old friends. Britta Arnold brings a grittier powerful quality demanding the expenditure of a new energy from the dancefloor.

Sliggy reaches up from a Berlin underground where friends meet strangers who will never be strangers again.  The Pysh Remix takes the sound travelling and invites all to come with him; a lyrical journey with Sliggy’s original mix as the vehicle.

Prop fills an outdoor festival from the stage, across the crowd and to the sky with big arps and anthemic sounds that meander into space.  This calls out to the stars picking up dancers along the way as we have seen all over the globe when bringing the Prop.

Sascha Cawa is a resident DJ at Kater and an essential member of the Holzmarkt 25 community in Berlin. He is highly respected as a DJ, producer, and an active member of the underground electronic music scene. Dedicated to his craft and passionate about music, Sascha stays true to the underground ethos that has shaped his career.

Sascha's love for house and techno music started in the 1990s when he began DJing. His performances have taken him to almost every renowned club in Berlin, as well as countless other locations around the world and to prominent underground festivals and events such as Garbicz, Fusion Festival, ADE, or Mayan Warrior.

In 2011, Sascha co-founded Katermukke with his close friend Dirty Doering, which quickly became one of the most influential imprints in the German electronic music scene. Although he left the label in 2015 to focus on his personal creative projects and interests, Sascha remains an active artist on the Katermukke roster, where he continues to push the boundaries of electronic music with his unique sound and vision.

Sascha has created a loyal following with his deep, emotive sound and released acclaimed EPs and singles on Katermukke and other respected labels such as Kiosk I.D., URSL, Upon.You, and Klaus:elle, showcasing his signature blend of techno, house, and electronica. His tracks are jam-packed with deep melodies, thrilling rhythms, and richly textured soundscapes, taking listeners on an emotional journey through the full spectrum of electronic music.

Beyond DJing, Sascha is proficient in producing, mixing, mastering, and coaching. He would describe himself as a nerd with a fascination for modular synthesizers, Drum Machines and a fetish for reverb plugins.
