Kobi and I have known each other well before we had ever met; over those epic Deep Dish '90's sessions at the legendary Haoman 17 club in Tel Aviv. While we shared a deep love of dance music, his trajectory veered into LA nightclub operation, promotion and ultimately, his ode to the seemingly perfect venue, Sound Nightclub. I still remember the tour he and Craig Pettigrew gave me before they opened the doors. It was - and is - beautiful.

Over the past decade, with each visit, I watched as Kobi tweaked, fine-tuned. revamped, and upgraded endless times - never missing the slightest detail - to ensure that gave their crowd and the numerous top-tier artists who've graced that booth, the perfect nightclub experience. From the layout...to sound, production and staff, Kobi nailed it; it's why Sound is on a very short list of venues I'd be willing to do an open to close set.

So a very happy 10yr anniversary Sound Nightclub and congrats to my brother Kobi; hope you all enjoy my 6hr journey from last month.

Burning Man, where to even begin...Being surrounded with 80.000 beautiful idiots made me feel right at home. The experienced sense of freedom and spontaneity will always be a part of me. Thanks to Robot Heart & Mayan Warrior for allowing us to play a B2B unlike anything we’ve done before and to Playground for being the warmest possible home and allowing us to end it all with a seven hour B2B on the Fun House. It was just perfect.

Hi guys, here's the middle 2 hours from my closing set recorded at He.She.They @ Watergate Berlin on 28.12.18. I'd just arrived back in  Berlin after a month in Australia and was so damn happy on this night :) A big thanks to everyone on the Waterfloor who shared the 6 hour journey with me and to He.She.They and Watergate for having me. The winter cold was mild as the clock struck midnight on Cityfox Odyssey’s NYE 2020 celebrations. In what proved to be a whirlwind of an amazing night-into-day affair, the jovial DJ duo Andhim took over Kings Hall just after the ball drop, encased in a light box installation - their spaceship and the vehicle to outer realms for the night.  Blasting off their set with tracks that were full of whimsy and mirth, the crowd was overjoyed and elated. Everyone was ready for their first journey of many that night.

Andhim, comprised of Simon Haehnel and Tobias Müller, are the best friends you always want to have around: lighthearted, cheeky, and most importantly - they never take themselves too seriously. This mantra and joie de vivre is reflected in the musicality of their sets, which has become a genre of so-called “Super House” and has endeared them to the crowds. Hailing from Cologne, Germany, Andhim has quite the repertoire of productions over the years since 2010, with classic tracks like “Wizard of Us” in 2013 and other releases on Get Physical, SuperFriends, and Monaberry.

This riveting live recording is emblematic of Andhim’s funky put-a-smile-on-your-face style mixed in with smooth and sexy rhythms that one cannot help but move and groove to. Strong believers of closing out on an uplifting note, Andhim cinched the three hour journey with feel-good tunes “Lunar Fling (Aera Remix)” by RSS Disco and “Last Song” by yours truly. As they have said themselves, “The last track needs to be strong. In a way, it's the centerpiece of the entire set. It should engage everyone and lift your own spirits. If it does, everyone walks home in the perfect state of mind.” 

Times may be tough and we miss our friends on the dance floor, however let this mix bring you to a sunnier mindset, perhaps a smile and a little two-step or two. Contrary to common belief Sascha Ries aka Sasch BBC is not a branch of british broadcasting, but nevertheless his name also stands for splendid entertainment. He delivers delicious music from Germany’s Rhein-Main-Area. Deep-seated in there are the roots of the current Loft resident, which shaped the mentality of his sound since the beginning.

In young years, Sascha was electrified by the precursors of today’s electronic scene like Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb. The desire for spinning records himself and encouraging a crowd to dance grew and was rewarded with his first residency in the age of 16 (1993) – in a time when pegging styles was not a common practice, when Techno was simply Techno and even House and Happy Breakbeats didn’t get in line. Around that time Sascha utilized an Amiga-computer to make his first steps in musical production. And for the people’s pleasure, a lot of tapes were mixed these days. Additional versatility was also proven by him in discjockey activities beyond his electronic paths. He put his mixing skills to work for the hip hop band “Noname Produkt” and released 2 CDs in collaboration wth them. But in spite of this detours his heart was always heavily beating in 4/4-steps – House and Techno. 

So in 2003 he came along the residency in the Loft Club Ludwigshafen, which remains true until today. And his impulsive sets were decisive for direct support of Sven Väth, Loco Dice, Ricardo Villalobos, Magda, Marco Carola, Richi Hawtin and many other top-class DJs. Sascha became iconic in the widely acclaimed Loft Club. Meanwhile in 2003, the event label “Envy My Music” offered him to take an additional residency in Frankfurt’s innovative Monza Club. He easily decided to do so. And by now he conquered almost all electronic clubs around the Rhein-Main-Area. On top of this his career has been elevated by playing sets at Time Warp 07 to 16! “Music has to be fun” isn’t only his often repeated mantra, it’s also a quality receptible in his sets. Heavily affected by the locally specific minimalistic Deephouse sound, he spreads his music up to groovy and funky House, Techhouse, Indie Dance and 80’s Synth Pop – but always with a certain element of high temper. Dark and blut just simply never was his thang. His music was released on such labels as 8 Bit, Great Stuff, Whatiplay, Disco Halal, Bar 25, Plastic City, Brise, Noir, Sleazy Deep, Sinope, Cimelde and Viva Music, Dear Deer....
