After some sort of slumber, Shabu Recordings is proud to present its new series: SHARMX. SHARMX is pretty self-explanatory: these EPs will be a retrospective that breathes new life into tracks from previous releases. These born-again tracks are then presented under a new form that is dictated by another party, not previously involved in any creative process of the affiliated release. The word Shabu being Japanese for Splash, this leads us to our first installment in the series: Splash Splash Vol.1.

Splash Splash Vol.1 consists of 4 tracks and 1 digital bonus track. Avus - Staring Into One Eye gets reworked by the Italian musical magicians duo, Margot. Margot shine a new light on the original by reshaping it in some sort of intergenerational party, with Rhodes jamming on top of a housey take of the original, resulting in a jazzy, yet head-bob-inducing vibe. Niccolò Bianchi – Estasi then gets a cosmic treatment by Shabu’s regular Falling From Cloud 9, adding dreamy aspects to an already dreamy song. Niccolò’s original had some Kosmiche Musik influences, and this remix makes it assume it completely by unleashing its beauty under a Krautrock form. Side B then opens with a remix by Samoyed of Vaghe Stelle – The Platform. Taking the lush synths of the original and transposing it on dubby beats results in a perfect arrangement. This remix also appears on the latest installment of the series Tapes on K7 Records curated by Bloc Party. Finally, the release folds on itself with Shabu Recordings head honcho Axel Helios’ second take of Avus – Staring Into One Eye. Having collaborated with Montreal glitch-hop extraordinaire Famelik on the official release, Axel reveals a 160 BPM IDM version of SHA003’s title track.

The "Diary", an Upon You Compilation, is the third of its kind and presented as a retrospective. Featured are a collective of ancestral artists like Marco Resmann, Onno, Magit Cacoon or Gunnar Stiller, as well as external ones like Chris Wood & Meat, Alland Byallo, Canson, Skinnerbox, Madmotormiquel und Ante Perry. Compiled by The Cheapers who gave their track "Memories" for this project which is also the name giving track of the CD. The two have been collecting exclusive tracks from Upon You artist as well as friends to create an assembly that covers the colorful spectrum of Upon You: deep, classic, jiggly, thriving, crooked and sometimes a little poppy. In comparison to the parent Diaries, the two Cheapers tried to add a more personal note by not only pressing their worn-out passport photos on the cover but also utilizing the tracks in a delicious mix. A serving proposal for fans. The DJs can of course buy the single tracks on all popular selling sites and later arrange them how they want. But- what could be better than to consume a nice mix of 19 tracks on the couch while rummaging in a booklet designed with love. Who ever wants to hear the last track of Ruede Hagelstein & The Noblettes has to buy the CD because it is exclusive only here! The best Dance Hits are going to be dignified on a vinyl extraction- so that everyone will be happy.

This summer Anja Schneider and mobilee will make a splash in Ibiza with a free, intimate bi-weekly pool party residency at Santos Coast Club. With six shows on the schedule, 2014 will be the break-through summer for mobilee's beloved pool parties series. The opening kicks off on Monday, July 14th and the residency pool series will follow every second Monday starting at 2pm with September 22nd marking the date of the closing party.

Ranj Kaler makes his exciting full release debut with ‘Our One Love’. 

Something of a household name now for his incredible work ethic, it might come as a surprise to know up until 2020, Ranj was just a working DJ in the heart of London content to play other people’s music. But then upheaval - the pandemic - a time that brought sea change to many of us in the music industry. 

For Ranj, a moment to reflect and to learn new skills - production - which quickly became signed releases for Saturo Sounds, 64K and Four Candles’ Keep Thinking. His fanbase grew. New fans included John Digweed and Hernan Cattaneo and from his incredible production style, remixes for Hooj Choons, Liaka Sounds and ARRVL, and bigger and better labels were keen to sign him up. 

Successful collaborations with Norman H on Stripped Digital and Fauxplay on Music To Die For have led to his first solo release of the year, and we are over the moon he’s chosen ASTIR. ‘Our One Love’ is a love note to dance music; an obsession decades in the making distilled into audio. 

In original form, synths soar against a strong percussive bedrock and chunky bass. warm sweeps glisten as icy pads rise in the background revealing intricate sonic detail that glitters in the periphery. Heartfelt and deeply emotional, this is Ranj unencumbered and in full mastery of his skills. 

On remix duties, crowd favourite Silinder makes a welcomed return to the fold honing the emotive elements of the original into his remarkable, unmistakable style, while label head Real Gone Kid takes a break from, uhh, breaks to drop a deep house vibe thick with soul.

It was at the age of 8 that Jeremy, alias Several Definitions, developed his desire to be in the world of music by receiving drums for Christmas. He took lessons for more than 6 years, played several concerts for his friends and learned the basics of music. After he received his first paycheck, Jeremy bought his first turntables. Growing up in the Hip Hop culture, he liked scratching with his friends but over time, Jeremy was more and more interested in the faster beats of house music. He was 18 years old when he made his first tracks. Active by nature, Jeremy headed to a mix between house and electro sounds. He quickly associated with another swiss DJ and formed the duo “Radi & Keith”. During this time, the two fellows move towards a deeper kind of music with catchy sounds. They released several tracks on different labels such as Seven City music, Funktion Black, Vamos music, Housesession and others. The moniker “Several Definitions” was created in 2014, after Jeremy decided to continue a solo career to pursue his techno leaning influences. According to him, loss, love and joy are the feelings that give him the greatest inspiration. His productions are intense and full of unique sounds, all built on a line of percussions. Warm atmospherics, captivating melodies and immersive beats, the mix is just perfect. With releases on Stil vor Talent, Diynamic, Suara, Underground Audio, Subjekt and Chapter 24 now under his belt, Several Definitions has a bright future ahead of him.
