This song was inspired after I finished reading several novels by Dostoevsky in the winter.

took a wrong way down the road

we stood on pier 
docks 
lonely harbor

the smell of fish
and moss 
and fog

i held three pebbles
in my pocket
which i picked up along the road

we dismissed poets of the past
spoke of the fleeting generation

and matches flicked
fell on the water
our patience lips (spoke, smoked)
watched ships two hours

- you know, she says 
- if the fishermen was happy 
-then it wouldn't be so foggy every morning

cigarettes gone
guitar strings broken
crow flew grabbed matches (stole them)

the heart in here 
(life's lonely harbor)

the scent of youth
and trees
and roads

i held three poems

last night i got 
down on my knees 
and gave my soul 
to christ

this morning 
a blue summer bird 
brought me a memory 
lost to wind

as if it knew 
that it would hurt

it brought 
specifically for me 

ash, clouds,  
reflect in eyes 
as tears, 
and in their 
depths hides 
truth and blood

Hypatia was a Greek Neoplatonist philosopher in Roman Egypt who was the first well-documented woman in mathematics. According to the only contemporary source, Hypatia was murdered by a Christian mob.
