It's a new year and Ruf Kutz ready something xtra special to tickle yer tape deck and make those speakers sing.

The keen-eared may have caught a glimpse of the 'Glow' on Ruffy's recently curated 'Expansion Pack 2: Textures' but to all intents and purposes this is a debut deluxe.

The man behind the music is a lifelong friend from @rufdug's Sydney sojourn, when the two would host mushroom squat parties with the rest of the "Bodega Clan", and who helped mastermind the seminal Paradise Lost warehouse parties. Virtuously patient, the Australian spent the years since perfecting his craft, maxing out the XP and emerging as his evolved form, Inner Glow.

A celebration of the culture via one of its most essential formats, 'Deep Water' flows through styles and sounds, telling its story with a fresh POV. Lynchian dialogue, soap opera romance and homages to five decades of the dancefloor provide an underground intertext as Inner Glow manifests a new sound from a mélange of IDM and ambient, Balearic breaks, dub techno and deep house.

The bigotry of the Disco Demolition Night is dismantled by distance, seen here for its role in returning dance music back to the underground, rewarding us with moments in love ever since. The second side sees the sounds of liquid DnB refracted into dream house, unlocking the energy of an airfield free party for the VR era; or else the swing and bump of '94 New York beamed out into the near future and steeped in entheogens. Taken together, the result surpasses the referential, with each magical motif, serotonin laced chord and irresistible rhythm sparking the synapses to keep you in core memories for years to come.

Wicked Bandit is an artist, DJ, and event producer from Sydney who’s now living in Mparntwe (Alice Springs). 

Whilst in Sydney, she was the Artistic Director of Honey Trap Sound System and producer of The New Style on 2SER. She curated and produced grassroots events and free parties, and released a mixtape called ‘The Cut’. 

Wicked Bandit is a sound system enthusiast, lover of deep, dark, heavy beats,  bass driven music, and music that celebrates the MC. She loves playing across a spectrum of genres, moving through different tempos and moods. She believes if the DJ has fun, everyone has fun.

In this set, Wicked Bandit plays tunes that have been resonating with her over the past two months in Central Australia. Leaning in to a more spacious and textural sonic landscape compared to her usual Sydney sets. Enjoy!

The team behind Bristol’s Paradisco & Disco Isn’t Dead events have brought together a group of previous guests, friends and family from 10 years of events to raise money for Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).

From the south west and beyond, previous guests CC:Disco, PBR Streetgang, Bill Brewster, DJ October, JKriv and The Reflex have contributed previously unheard gems and fresh new edits, alongside music from local favourites Meggy Mac, Owain K, Awon (Bedmo Disco) and residents Brad Bradley & Burly Chassis.

Expect synth-soaked 80s edits, slick funk drum workouts, cosmic disco chuggers, proto-house straight from the basement, strung out XXXtended 5am gear, peak time punch and tinges of Balearic downtempo.

Artwork for the compilation is provided by long term collaborator Katie Fishlock.

100% of the proceeds will be donated to MAP with full transparency.

In the face on an increasing genocide and now mass starvation, MAP have workers on the ground supporting medical care, distributing clean water and food, offering mental health support and rebuilding infrastructure (electrical generators, neonatal care units, maternity departments) in Gaza and the West Bank.

Their sets move through Brazilian raerities and street soul through to 90's house, rave, dubby house, disco, techno, bass and everything 808.
