His Detroit influences along with time spent on the seminal dancefloors of early 2000s Berlin shaped a sound that would go on to have an influence in its own right. A founding member of the iconic Visionquest along with Ryan Crosson and Lee Curtis, Shaun has made his unmistakable mark on the electronic scene at large. Those who have experienced the inimitable magic of Shaun’s sets, at Robert Johnson, Fabric, Panorama Bar, Sunwaves and everything in between, will understand the power of fusing slick, intelligent minimal with the emotive potential of American house. An extension of his artistry behind the decks, Shaun’s productions are equally as high calibre. A steady output in the studio has seen him appear on labels including Raum…Musik, Wolf + Lamb, and his own Visionquest among others. With a career spanning over a decade, Shaun continues to explore the endless new and exciting possibilities in our musical landscape. We are incredibly honored to welcome Shaun to our podcast series with an immaculately put together mix that steadily builds energy as it ebbs and flows through dubby atmospheres and club-oriented cuts. Spending countless hours digging into obscure minimal and deep techno productions, whilst soaking up the unrestrained artistry and expressionism on display at the local clubs. Over the subsequent years under his @Suburbial alias, Javier began gaining support and respect amongst his peers, with his productions being played in celebrated institutions like Globus (Tresor), Hoppetosse & Club der Visionaere. Galvanized by these milestones he shifted his focus more heavily into music production, experimenting with new machines, instruments, and modulars. His defined producing style has gone from strength to strength, now ranging from submersive techno to deep minimalistic and organic sounds. Always aiming for a harmonic evolution that is both energetic and enigmatic. His masterful approach to music has seen him signed to reputed labels like @CurteaVeche and @Rotatemusic, with more releases inbound on different labels, alongside his self-styled imprint @DeepnosiS.
