On the new Cal-A produced single, “Try You,” SASH’s brand of smooth-trap music finds the middleground between chilled-out and hype thanks to his knack for melody and meditative bars paired with a stellar ear for production.

The San Francisco-by-way-of-Ukraine artist has become well-known these past few years for his  equally laid-back and energetic joints, like last year’s “Libido.” That single turned into a breakout hit and reached the Top 200 on FM radio, and also opened doors for SASH—like getting the opportunity to open up for the likes of french Montana, Chief Keef, Ugly God, and others.

“Try You” represents another step forward for the young artist, who sounds dead-set on creating songs for hazy late-night party playlists. You can certainly get away with—and fully appreciate—bumping this track at any time of the day, but it sounds best paired with a bit of a buzz, whether it’s from your favorite drink, strain, or a mixture of both.
