A beautiful Sunday morning spent doing the thing I love the most, this time alongside wonderful live instrumentation by Kevin Spears. Was such a fun, joyful, inspired collaboration 🎶 Had to be there to hear that part, but for those who couldn't be there, I still got the set for ya ;)

This set - Inspired Action - was made in the spirit of Mars' recent movement into its realm of exaltation, in the sign of Capricorn. Mars is our agent of action, and the way I see it, in Capricorn, we can take the right action. We have the energy to do the hard work. To fight the good fight. We are inspired to act. That which inspires me, moves me. Music, for example ;) And poetry...

There was once upon a time,
I didn’t know my reason or rhyme
People would say "oh you are doing just fine"
But that wasn’t the landscape of my inner mind

I needed more, I needed to feel and see
How is it my existence came to be?
And if I am here is there a purpose to me?
Is my life fated? Or is my life free?

I looked all around, desperate to know
I read ancient texts, learned the art of flow
I sought wisdom in trees, the caw of the crow
I cried out for hurt that occurred long ago

First I cried for my own unacknowledged pains
Fear, anger, grief, am I insane?
And then the pain went beyond my own selfish domain
To the wounds of a world living in vain

Somehow through all this, I came to realize
That in order to be here, in order to survive
Whatever the cause of my being alive
Inspiration keeps me seeing with innocent eyes

I noticed there were times when I felt a spark inside
Upon seeing something so creatively divine
Or reveling in the synchronicity of a series of signs
And in the way a small act of kindness could change the course of one’s life

I tended those sparks and followed their lead
I let go of the things that felt wrong for me
I gave up looking for a destination to be
I followed my bliss, trusting this as the key

It’s a conscious effort, yet what else can we do?
But follow those sparks, so bright & so true
Tending the seeds of our heart's inspiration
Trusting this to give will towards taking right action

This more than anything has been my guiding star
When everything else in the world seems dark
I tune into these little sparks near and dear to my heart
May divinely inspired action bless our dance, our art <3

This was a beautiful event that I helped curate at the Luxeart hanger in ATX! I created this mix with the inspiration of being caught in a dust storm in a beautiful flowing dress. This mix is a culmination of deep desert house, world, afrohouse, organic house with some tech. <3

Rob’s spark for Electronic music was lit for the first time at an L.A. underground party in the 90s.  With a tight crew of friends he started going to as many raves & after-hours clubs as humanly possible, soaking up the early Techno, Breaks, and House, expertly mixed by DJs like DJ Dan, Doc Martin, & the Wicked Crew.  Late one night during one of those perfect dance floor moments, a new path opened up; he had to find a way to create this music himself.  He set the goal of teaching himself how to write and produce music, first with drum machines and synthesizers, later adding software like Logic Pro, Ableton Live, & Maschine. Rob has since been the writer & producer of several House, Techno, Psybass, & Midtempo Breaks projects, including The Spiral Massive, Rob Beta, & Dopelimat. He began releasing music as Sashuna in 2018, integrating elements from all these genres, adding a heart-centered, World-music inspired vibe to the mix. Sashuna has remixed tracks by Bosa, and has worked with artists like Eviali, Jovin Montanaro, & DJ Maggie. Sashuna has played at many events and clubs, including The Gathering, Youtopia, Moontribe Full Moon Gathering, Lucidity Festival, Loveland at Shine, Loveland at Burning Man, and an especially memorable set playing on the rooftop of an Art Car named Chundra.
