We are more than delighted to announce the Mustang EP from Nils Penner on Moodmusic Records. Hammering out amazing EPs on Freerange, Compost Black and Exploited, he is about explode in 2015.

Nils is no stranger to us, having recorded an album and several singles as Penner + Muder in 2010, he was also featured on several compilations on Moodmusic over the last years.

The Mustang EP shows a different angle productionwise, bringing an almost techno feel to Nils deep and emotional music. Raw and uncompromising, we are convinced this is Nils Penners best work to date.

Starting with Mustang, a proper jam if anything mixes driving beats and a massive bassline to undulating synths to a hypnotic theme.

Clouds follows with same esthetics, this time taking a Jacking Chicago feel and elevating it to next level with fierce drumming and majestic synth work.

Next up is Aurora, a deeper affair with modulating synths, a deeper, melodic bassline making it a perfect early morning jam for a discerning dancefloor.

Closing the EP is Lonely, a timeless piece of Nils Penner workout, deep but with a twist to it. Chords gradually gives space for a melancholy vocal, a perfect end of the night song if any.

This one is about much more than the dancefloor: "Ruler On The Throne" by Budakid is full of ear openers with it's painted synth sounds and the metallic bleeps combined with the warm voice of Siogue. Florian Kruse - Beyond The Bloom 

Following from his pair of stunning releases on Steve Bug’s Audiomatique in 2017, Berlin-based producer Florian Kruse drops another killer EP to kick off 2018. Kruse has built a reputation of his perfectly crafted dancefloor bombs, treading the in-between areas of techno and house for labels such as Selador, Poker Flat Recordings and Noir Music.

'Beyond the Bloom' is a perfect example of his approach - a tough groove designed to make you move, with a bubbling, restless bass pulse. The percussion is tight and snappy, and there's plenty of drama to keep the track moving along.

'Blind Traveler' - the name is taken from a piece of art - edges closer to the techno side of things, with a deep detonation aimed at the heart of the night. Built around a minimum of elements, each hit and synth stab is perfectly placed, creating a ferociously effective whole.

Classically trained instrumentalist and Cocoon alum Malandra Jr. kicks off proceedings on a dynamic note with a pair of blissed-out tracks featuring blossoming synths, supple drums and whirring glitches. Citizen Kain follows suit with two energy-loaded numbers, the more dreamy and spaced out 'Crush', followed by the vocal-heavy 'Balance'. Next up is German producer Heerhorst who takes a turn for deep and pensive melodies with 'Centaurus', while 'Hydra' stands out with powerful synths and a rattling beat. Bold, intense synths are also at the core of Transcode’s 'String Theory' and 'Molecular Cloud', with the former offering a massive breakdown fit for peak time, and the latter a more resolute atmosphere overall. In the release’s final quarter, we find Olivier Giacomotto with two tribal-tinged constructions, the slow burner 'Moonshine', and its more unhinged counterpart, 'Bonobo'. Made in Paris rounds off the Trip with a couple of stirring slices brimful of radiating synths and spacious breakdowns.

All in all, a steady trickle of dancefloor-primed pieces setting off sparks of all the different types of energy needed to sustain a coalescent set.

Malandra Jr. - Poison [Snippet]

The track is built around a roaring 808 kick which immediately emphasizes the raw straight forward character Haste Midi wants to attribute to the track. On the other side the pads which are sampled from a 70s vinyl provide the warmth and width the track needs to harmonize in a housy way. It also reﬂects the analogue aspect which is an essential feature of Haste Midi's sound. The second part of the track is marked by a beautiful vocal sampled from Midways '84 classic "Set it out". Again this soft element stands in contrast to the whizzing hihat which adds additional drive to the track. Finally the two basslines are rounding off the track making it a minimalistic retro-house tune. With his Remix, Daniel Stefanik added some smooth, chilled out sexyness to this Track.
Gone begins where Fool stops. Straight 909 drums and percussions hit on looped atmosphere and a bassline, that even might bring pensioners to dance. Rounded by moved claps and a trumpet in the break, this song is created for the dance ﬂoor. Gone is a homage to the straight, danceable House sound of the early 90s. With his Remix, Ruben Mandolini added a straight forward Techno attitude to the Track.
