Sadness and Sorrow

I think it’s important to say that a lot more women than you think have had one or multiple miscarriages. It’s just that it is a subject not often talked about because of the very personal pain that the couple go through. The unborn life has no contact with anybody else except the mother and the emotions are often only remembered by the mother and father.
When Jo and I were expecting our second child we were very excited and looking forward to having another Reeves in our growing family. I will never forget the day that we were told we were going to lose the baby and once told, left sitting in an open A & E waiting area having to cope with all our raw emotions and the prospect of the impending loss amongst the rest of the other patients.
Jo had to go through a painful operation to terminate the pregnancy and it is a day she will never forget. We were a family of three planning being a family of four having now to plan being a family of three recovering from an invisible loss and explain it to our young son.
It was an extremely difficult time but we were fortunate that after a few years we did have two more children. Jo tells me that although it is difficult to explain the connection she had with the unborn child that the presence of life inside her will never be forgotten.
I felt I couldn’t let this moment in our lives pass by without acknowledging our unborn child in some way. The rollercoaster of emotions we shared at that time from euphoria at increasing our family to devastation and bereavement at our loss were felt intensely only by Jo and myself played it’s part in forging the strong bond we have had throughout our relationship. Where The Unfortunate Dwell (Unfortunation)

The October 2022 DIAMC writing prompt was about displacement, taking a character either fictional or real and putting them into an alternative reality. I imagined a world where Little Red was all grown up and off to the bright lights and big city, in search of Mr Wolf.

Little Red she’s grown up proper
Little Red, nothing’s going to stop her
She’s going to shine, like the moon
Mr Wolf, big man in the city
Mr Wolf sure likes them pretty
In for a surprise, Mr Wolf
You’d better watch that back

She’s coming for her due

Little Red, headed for the Hood
Telling Granny she is going to be good
She may be lying, but honest she’s trying
Little Red steps into his bar
Mr Wolf greets her with a snarl

“Make mine a double on the rocks 
And wipe that look, off your face,
I swapped out that blunt old axe,

As is usually the case after completing an album, I tend to return to my style of emotive piano melodics.  "Reflect" was completed in one evening, after sitting at my controller keyboard exploring different phrases, until finally coming up with something that resonated with me. There are countless evenings like this that I never end up with anything at all worth recording. Just meandering with fingers randomly playing unmemorable motifs. Something I'm trying to learn with these types of tracks is to stop when I have a sense that the feeling is conveyed. Even if it ends up only 2-3 minutes long. I hope you enjoy it and helps you reflect on good times. 

I want to thank all the wonderful people in this SC community that have supported and expressed their enjoyment of my music. It's a hobby(turned passion) that has so much more significance when I get to read the gracious feedback that I'm so fortunate to receive.

I look forward to sharing more material from my new album “Focus”. I also have a new Blink Twice single coming next week that should satisfy those electro heads out there. And much more to come in 2023 most definitely. Cheers!

EVERY STEP OF THE WAY

This track was developed based off a poem written by the same name and the emotiveness evoked from within it. In the semblance of life, there are crackles "spackling" the loveliness of the everyday. 

When we experience things in life, it is always wise to remember all of whom we are, deep within us. When we do this, the easier it is to keep everything else in an appropriate perspective... remembering everyone and everything are simply... energy. We are merely the vessels in which energy is processing through each life cycle in the physical three dimensional world. 

We can get caught up in the man made constructs, verbiage, judgments, etc. and permit them to disrupt the flow of our energy... or we can allow the energy to flow to us, through us, and then... beyond us. We can choose to absorb it, ask it to be returned to the sender, or (as we've chosen to begin as our own practice...) ask it to simply be returned to the earth for transmutation into the growth medium for something lovely, BEautifying, and helpful to the earth and for the potentiality of enrichment for all. We hope you enjoy this piece as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Hello dear friends.  If it weren't for the 2000 limit, I'd like to follow you all.  Unfortunately, I can only show my appreciation by listening, reposting and liking.  I seek and love music that gives me goosebumps.  I myself am looking for it through experiments with rhythms, sounds and harmony.  So far I haven't succeeded yet.  Music is my life.  Especially the traumatic experience more than ten years ago I was able to process more easily. I’m Fred, far over 60, born in Diest, Belgium on August 8, 1954.  I am grateful for all the given likes and comments, for all the listeners and followers here on SC or on all the other streaming services where my music is publiced. I’m also grateful to all these artists and musicians who put their beautiful music on SC.  Thanks everyone.  Keep it healthy.  Take care of each other and sow peace!
