This song has been produced, mixed and masterd on AKAI MPC Live.
I created 12 sequences in the MPC music project, which I used to create two different songs, the background one called "Morning ride to Chiavenna" which I used as background track for this video https://youtu.be/MuT9VLQVBmM, and this one, "Deep X".
I really enjoyed the MPC 2.10 new features like the Mellotron, Hype and Solina plugins.
I used also the Granulator, which adds a lot in the arrangement of the song.

"ԍʌᴉƨcԍʁɑϝᴉuმ ԍɑʁϝμ, 41.850835, -8.766833" or "eviscerating earth" is a chimaera of generative dark ambient, distorted tape loops and field recordings, captured within the unsettling lull of dismantled wolfram mines. Mines that once tore apart the Serra D'Arga, a landscape that I inhabit and with whom I try to cohabit sustainably, though perhaps in vain since its wounds could soon be reopened. And what for? Lithium, rechargeable in practice, but finite at its origin.

The LP's cover was conceived by an adversarial generative network of computers. The words "eviscerating earth" were the input. 

I may be projecting animisms, attributing intention to an inanimate object or value where it doesn't exist, when I observe that computers, machines programmed by us, are oftentimes better at capturing the brutality of our environmental holocaust.

Review:
Satha Lovek, estrangeirismo, denominação batismal deste duo de gringos lusitanos, seculares detentores de computadores e melonamania incontível ou, tão simplesmente, a bastardização aglutinadora de “Satha”, rei deposto de “Lovek”, cidade cambojana e catalista de um fabulado 5º Império. PT Malacca, escrito e produzido em 2020, é o seu EP de estreia, editado pelo Coletivo Farra e lançado a 26 de Outubro deste ano, produto de tangentes pandémicas, samples remanescentes de partilhas pletóricas feitas à distância de um teclado. É também uma homenagem distorcida mas sem retorção das Kantigas Di Padri Sa Chang, “procurem-nas e vão perceber”, recomendam. 
Ouvido e depurado, PT Malacca afigura-se um 4-faixas de pós-colonialismo traumático, navegado entre Portugal e o bairro português de Malacca em menos de 22 minutos. Isentos de sentimento patriótico, Satha Lovek compuseram o regresso à uma sinceridade multicultural por meio da sátira ao nacionalismo desmedido, refutado pelas amálgamas artificiosas de drone, free-jazz, IDM e plunderphonics que engrandecem o EP. “Grago”, a segunda faixa, destaca-se pela abrasão ostensiva, emblemática de uma batalha cruzada onde gritos dilacerantes entrecortam eclosões de crueldade e batidas imprevisíveis. Em oposição extrema, “Ode to Malacca”, a terceira faixa, submerge o ouvinte na dissolução prolongada de um amuralhado monocórdico, a última réplica de um império arruinado que, após 4 minutos de drone implacável, se transfigura em canção do cisne pautada por notas de piano cintilantes, uma analogia às narrativas históricas vigentes, reluzentes de tão embelezadas, o legado, currículo e propaganda de alegados heróis do mar. 

Em PT Malacca, as armas e os barões assinalados nunca soaram tão honestamente.

Diogo Veloso (Portugal 1558 - Cambodja 1599) was a Portuguese colonialist active in Southeast Asia in the last quarter of the 16th century. He was one of the first Europeans to ever set foot in Laos.

Veloso's journey began in Cambodia, where he befriended Satha, King of Lovek and Ruiz of Spain. Satha, who sided with and profited from European colonialism, was eventually overthrown by his son and other nobles, forcing Veloso to flee to Portuguese Malacca, another place from where many "adventures" in Southeast Asia began and remained. 

To this day Malacca embraces, condemns and celebrates deeply asymmetrical aspects of its past, both pre and post-colonial, forcing us to consider how the lion needn't learn how to write, yet many stories still glorify the hunter.
