Electronique vocalisée & kicks intellectuels. Les cervicales s’agitent, les neurones font la causette. Bonjour et merci la France expérimentale. Les Américains nous les envient. Improvisations décadentes & virtuosité brute depuis 2006. 1803 concerts à leur actif. 732 715 kilomètres de route avalés. Une fesse pour toujours et à jamais dans les charts souterrains. Une autre qui convoite sans vergogne les MTV Music Award 2037. Rien que ça ouais. 

France Sauvage a été interdit de jouer avant même d’avoir commencé dans le sous-sol de cette pizzeria rennaise en 2010. France Sauvage, comme dans toutes les formations qui durent, a traversé des périodes, des phases, des obsessions esthétiques, des up, des down. L’expérimentation pure et dure, l’empirisme contrôlé, la chimie laborantine, le marteau, l’enclume et l’humour font partie prenante de la marque de fabrique du groupe. Mais ce serait oublier l’essentiel de leur génome musical à savoir le rythme, la pulsation, le swag. Le plus par le moins, la poésie-collage.

2023 : au revoir les squats, bonjour les plateaux TV. La gloire à portée de phalanges. Ils ne répéteront pas plus pour autant. Faut pas pousser. Le spectacle unique, l’événement singulier. En exclusivité pour vous et en direct. Fulgurances surprises & dérapages contrôlés. L’instrumentarium variable en autonomie dirigée. Electricité statique & chair humaine. 

Dans leur nouvel album « Où les observer, savoir les reconnaître », il y a toujours le clown Pennywise pas loin, la cave en feu, les succubes rampants, le cuir qui chauffe, le fouet qui schläge, mais tout cela jaillit d’une écriture pop, chaloupante et généreuse qui a été polie durant des années dans une usine à tubes. C’est cet effet louche de chocolat chaud sur boule de vanille glacée qui rend cet objet discographique totalement addictif. 

Vous ne saurez pas toujours où ils veulent en venir, mais ils vous y conduiront invariablement avec brio.

The original ‘The Death Of Rave’ project releases in 2006 was vast, over two-hundred flashbacks, using all of the dance floor hits from the time and stripping them of energy and spirit, turning them into shadows and ghosts. The material pre-dates the recent obsession younger musicians have for re-creating remembered rave textures and memories. This was not nostalgia, It was an inverted paean to a time when the music was about bringing people together for a shared experience. A time when only the music, advancement of sound and getting on one mattered.

The Caretaker conjures a quieter, more introspective spirit, lost in his own mind amidst a low-lit labyrinth of ever-decaying and antediluvian shellac phrases. Sourced from a mysterious collection of 78s, these vague snippets of archaic sonics reflect the ability of Alzheimers patients to recall the songs of their past, and with them recollections of places, people, moods and sensations.

‘Stakeout’ picks up where ‘Loan Shark’ left off, tapping back into the conceptual, crime-ridden Wild West first imagined across tracks like ‘Contraband’ and ‘Hot Pursuit’; “If anyone is working on a 22nd century film noir at the moment, this would make the perfect soundtrack” wrote Bandcamp back in June.

This sentiment echoes across the ‘Stakeout’ tracklist, which again details tracks that marry precision bass-weight and deft, nimble sampling techniques with nuanced flashes of genius; Commodo is no ordinary producer. From the swirling unease and sharp crackle of the title-track to the oddball, industrial swing of ‘Transit’ and menacing, Batman-style lurch of EP closer ‘Crooked’ Law’, ‘Stakeout’ forms the fascinating concluding chapter of Commodo’s latest Black Acre odyssey.

Sathönay est un projet de Nico Poisson, membre de NED, Totale Eclipse... et fondateur de S.K Records. Depuis peu en version trio, ce projet est tourné vers la musique orientale à travers l'utilisation du saz électrique (un grand luth d'origine turque, pour faire court). D'oriental il n'y a que la saveur, les morceaux sont dans un registre pop psychédélique.
Le line-up d'équilibristes est constitué de Nico Poisson au saz et au chant, de François Virot à la batterie que l'on connaît pour Clara Clara et le projet qui porte son nom dont le nouvel album vient de sortir sur Born Bad ; au violoncelle, Léonore Grollemund apporte sa grande connaissance des modes orientaux et des Balkans, qu'elle pratique dans de nombreuses formations de musique traditionnelle dont les infâmes Sex Drugs & Rebetiko et désormais aussi au sein de l'Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp XXL.
Le trio a enregistré son album Lost a Home à Marseille avec le producteur anglais Daniel O'Sullivan, qui officie dans Ulver, Grumbling Fur, Mothlite et dernièrement This is not this heat. Sa production ample et céleste rajoute une dimension mystique à la rugosité des thèmes orientaux parfois mélancoliques, rageurs et primitifs.

Recently expanded into a trio, this project is based on oriental music through the use of an electric Saz (Saz is a type of turkish lute, to be short), cello and drums. From oriental music there is only the flavour, the songs can be more easily filed under vaguely pop psychedelia.

The album Lost a home coming out on march 31st 2017 was recorded in Marseille with british producer Daniel O'Sullivan, member ofUlver, Grumbling Fur, Mothlite and recently This is Not this heat. His wide and celestial production adds a mystical dimension to the raucousness of the oriental themes sometimes melancholic, furious and primitive. 

Sathönay is the name of a square where we used to like to hang out.
