Kevin Over further cements his status as mobilee’s most exciting fresh talent with a blistering collection of unheard material, deftly showcasing the work of a young artist rapidly reaching critical mass. 
 
You don’t come to find yourself at the helm of one of the most successful underground house and techno imprints without a keen eye for fresh talent, that which has the potential to be nurtured, moulded and pushed to the next level. Anja Schneider has worked hard to hone that skill over the years, fine-tuning her instinctive, risk-taking persona; as a result, she just knows when someone is worth investing in. With that said, she new has her new protégé Kevin Over locked firmly in her sights – and with good reason.
 
But even so, for Over to find himself behind the wheel of one of mobilee’s annual long-form releases, despite him barely being over a quarter of a century old (not to mention having only met its founder in person less than a year ago), is quite something. But then again, Anja Schneider isn’t your usual A&R, and Kevin Over isn’t your usual ‘talent’ - as if his recent stellar run of EPs on Truesoul, Nofitstate, Avotre and of course mobilee in the last year alone, didn’t tell you already.
 
Part compilation, and part album, Over was keen to emphasize how this was his first musically extensive project which followed a defined musical structure, and was consistent in its vibe and mood from beginning to end; “I felt like I needed more of a defined direction at this point in my career, as many of my EPs had traversed a wide variety of styles. The whole process took around three months, drawing from my early influences in garage and Chicago house as well as older funk stuff. I definitely got lost down the Youtube rabbit hole whilst looking for things to sample! I’m also so proud of having some of my favorite artists such as Marquis Hawkes, Jacob Korn and Soulphiction on board for remixes as well.”

As a result, the package displays a remarkably well-rounded cohesion, despite many of the tracks being wildly disparate in a musical sense. They all contain that trademark Over sound that’s hard to put your finger on, be it the piston-driven, jacking drums, the use of dirt and distortion as a textural tool, or the understated yet catchy melodies. The gloriously gravelly deep house of ‘Vember’ contrasts beautifully against the woozy, euphoria of ‘Look At Me Sartre’. There’s everything from disco-inflected bangers (‘Pfeffi Care’) to bittersweet, nostalgic house making an appearance (‘Hillside Av.’), rounding off with his haunting take on Rodriguez Jr.’s 2012 anthem ‘Satellite’
 
As is tradition with the ‘Back to Back’ series, the full package will also be accompanied by a ‘best of’ mobilee tracks from the previous year, with tracks from Audiofly, Ray Opkara, Rodriguez Jr. amongst many others, and of course Anja Schneider herself. Kevin’s series of original tracks and remixes will be available to buy as a 2 x 12” gatefold package. A tour is also scheduled to follow.

Rebirth Records is happy to announce the release of the new Pastaboys single ‘Quadro’. Following their big club hit 'Deep Musique’ featuring Osunlade, that was an anthem last year thanks to the Rampa Remix, they released a new track 'Kolo Kolo' on Crosstwon Rebels in June, and are back on Rebirth with ‘Quadro’, the new single !
United by a deep passion for house music, Uovo, Dino Angioletti and Rame are working as Pastaboys since 1995. An intensive producing activity, numerous remixes released by the prestigious MAW Records, Strictly Rhythm and NRK, and the big success of the singles ‘Soul Heaven’, 'Tribute', 'Body Resonance' and 'Limit’. 
‘Quadro’ is a club weapon of big proportions we have been road testing in the last year, with propulsive percussions and an hypnotic twist creating a constant sense of energy and groove. 
And we are thrilled to have John Ciafone remixing the track. Coming from New York, John is one half of Mood II Swing (alongside Lem Springsteen),  one of the most in demand music production team in the late 90’s producing big hits like  ‘Free' and ‘Found A Cure’ by Ultra Natè for Strictly Rhythm, and club classics like 'Do It Your Way’, 'All Night Long’,  'The Slippery Track’, 'Move Me’ and  'Call Me’ plus remixes for BT, Ali, Kim English and King Britt. John gives the mix his unique touch adding his inimitable groove and a driving funky bassline that shakes your ass !

The influential No.19 Music marks its 10th year in 2018 with a raft of incredible music set to propel the imprint to its 100th release by year end. As part of this celebration the label are delighted to welcome pioneering house producer Satoshi Tomiie for a very special new EP that comes with a remix from the fantastic Dana Ruh. Japanese born Tomiie is best known for his enduring hit Tears with the late Frankie Knuckles, but since then has continued to produce and remix a wealth of essential tracks. Always imbuing his music with a real sense of musicality that stems from his background as a student of classical piano and jazz, he also runs his own Abstract Architecture label and has released on the likes of Kerri Chandlers Kaoz Theory and Holic in recent years. His hybrid DJ setup mixes traditional DJing with analogue modular synths and that innovative and impromptu style carries over to his recorded productions. First up here is the mighty Resonant, a nine-minute house track that is forceful and attention grabbing from the off: it has heavy kicks and rumbling dub chords rolling out to an infinite horizon, with razor sharp hi hats and resounding claps taking it into techno territory as filters add dynamism to the pads. Its a heavyweight roller to get the floor marching as one and is certain to do just that each time it's dropped. Then comes the immediately appealing Bassline, taking its title one suspects from the old school Chicago b-line which features as its main hook. As it rides up and down the scale, slick kicks and icy percussion flesh things out and vocal yelps break out every so often to add fuel to the fire. Its a timeless classic from the off. The package is closed out with a stunning remix from the hugely talented Dana Ruh. Ruh has built an enviable reputation over the past decade, recording for the likes of Cocoon, Ostgun Ton & Underground Quality as well as her own Brouqade label and touring the world consistently, with appearances at Tresor, Amnesia and Pacha. Here she flips Bassline into a punchy, kinetic house cut with swirling pads and muted chords that manage to be warm and driving at the same time, delivering a standout remix that is certain to make its mark in the months to come. This is a high impact and atmospheric EP that is designed to make dance floors take note.

Satoshi Tomiie has been a pioneering and driving force within the global electronic music community since the early days of house music. Now, decades after his ‘Tears’ alongside Frankie Knuckles, the Japanese born, New York and based DJ, producer, remixer and label boss is still regular feature in the sets of many of today’s underground elite.
A student of jazz and classical piano, Satoshi is musically adept and accomplished producer who constantly evolved how he works. Experimenting with a new hybrid Modular DJ setup which sees him effortlessly fuse live analogue modular synthesis and with traditional DJ sets. Regularly playing clubs such as DC10, Rex and from South America to Tokyo while releasing music on labels such as YoY, Yoyakuza, Kaoz Theory, No19, MFR, Holic, and his own Abstract Architecture. Satoshi is as relevant as ever and continues to make waves throughout the electronic music community as only he knows how.
