It's been a while since our last Take Two EP release and we're pleased to share that our next Take Two EP comes from DJ & Producer Marco Pedro based in the Phillipines! Inspired by the sounds of the favela, Marco collaborates with his fellow label mates & friends on 3 bailefunk drive remixes! Perfect for the upcoming festival season, club shows and livestreams, these tracks are made to liven your sets and take it up a notch that will be loved by audiences around the world.

The first single off Marco's upcoming Take Two EP is titled Baile De Calavera in collaboration with Dutch producer Soulely! The Bailefunk track, cohesively blends the sounds of the Favela with rhythmic percussions and strong brass sounds that'll remind you of being at a festival!

The full EP drops on the 21st of May 2021, but for now enjoy the first single off Marco Pedro's Take Two EP.

We're keeping the momentum going and excited to present our latest release coming from a producer that we love working with, Ms Mavy! The French born artist is versatile, from making Future Beats, Tribal Rhythms and Afro influenced music to starting her own crew and radio show, Afroplug, she has gotten her music featured on Rinse Fm & Boiler Room to name a few.

Her release with us marries a classic Hip-Hop anthem with afro-inspired sounds that has become Ms Mavy's signature sound throughout her productions. About Lorkestra :

Having started out as a Hip-Hop dancer, this led Lorkestra to gain an interest in beat-making and DJ-ing while he was in Paris. As he garnered attention as a DJ, he became the official DJ for rapper Gracy Hopkins and has played alongside names such as Branko, Goldlink, Sango & more. That grew to us throwing parties, hosting artists from around the region, Soulection from Los Angeles, travelling around and playing shows, connecting with more like minded people and here we are right now, a collective/record label/tech startup. And over the past 2 years, many of you have played a pivotal role in some way in the development of SaturdaySelects, and we would like to take the time to thank you for that.

That grew to us throwing parties, hosting artists like Didi Han and Maximus MMC from around the region, Soulection from Los Angeles, travelling around and playing shows, connecting with more like minded people and here we are right now, a collective/record label/tech startup. And over the years, many of you have played a pivotal role i in the development of SaturdaySelects, and we would like to take the time to thank you for that.

Following up from our 1K Compilation a few months ago, this time we got the friends and family of SaturdaySelects to hop on and release some tracks to commemorate hitting 2000 followers on SoundCloud! We can't thank you enough for the insane support we've received and promise to keep spreading good music from this tiny little place called Kuala Lumpur.

Jms - Can't Believe

“Take Two” is a new series of EP’s under SaturdaySelects that focuses on the creativity and rendition of artists we work on remixes and edits of some of their favourite tracks. This gives a new outlook at an existing track adding flavours and sounds that give the track a new lease of life. The project also pairs up a designer with the artist of the project to create a collaborative effort in giving their analysis of the tracks vibe and translates it into the cover design of the EP, hence creating an audio-visual synergy and project.

SaturdaySelects Radio Show #086 ft Don Mayor

Lamsi is a promising young producer & DJ currently based in Amsterdam. Being born and raised in the city has influenced his taste for hiphop and trap to create bass loaded productions and remixes. Combining these elements together with his roots from South America, it creates a blend of beautiful melodies and dirty drums that have become his signature sound. With only a handful of releases to his name, Lamsi has already shown he has a dynamic sound that can't be boxed into a specific genre or scene. 

His first release with us is a remix of a classic Kanye West track that blends hip-hop and funk almost seamlessly! With his signature drums and rhythms, Lamsi's take on Good Life gives the track a new flavour with a bounce that is guaranteed to get you in the mood to dance! Tune in!

9th Sage is a DJ and creative based in Houston. Having been exposed to a diverse range of music since he was young has given Sage the opportunity to indulge into various modern day sounds like Hip Hop, R&B, Electronic and the list goes on!

We're excited to present our latest release with one of our favourite Producer and DJs has shined the light on soul and Caribbean music, Ms Mavy! The French born artist is versatile, from making Future Beats, Tribal Rhythms and Afro influenced music to starting her own crew and radio show, Afroplug, she has gotten her music featured on Rinse Fm & Boiler Room to name a few.

Her last release with us was back in 2018 with a Take Two EP and this time we've got a dance infused blend of Lil Kim and 50 Cent that blends almost seamless with each other and the heavy Afrobeats inspired 808s. The dreamy chord progression backing the track makes it an easy listen at home, or when you're heading out for some drinks with the crew!

SaturdaySelects is an imprint based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia focusing on music, live events and radio since 2016.
