Cómo hacer/se un espacio para el arte?
En una tierra dañada, es necesaria la imaginación conjunta de otros modos de habitar. La pregunta se vuelve una tarea creativa, arquitectónica, artística. Hacer/se un espacio con otrxs, hacerse eco del sistema dinámico y situado sobre el que hacemos pie. Un espacio, también, para pausar la inercia y atender a lo que pasa. En un mundo de saturación,Sfer Ik da lugar a la pausa de lo sonoro. Contra un mapa de lo que arrasa, Kuxtal invita al sitio de la convivencia simbiótica.
 
La música habita entre y con las plantas, la presencia insistente del mar, el devenir cambiante del cielo.  La experiencia sonora es también una experiencia espacial: se contrae y se expande, vuelve a la vitalidad del compost y la fotosíntesis. Un tejiido reticular que conecta sonidos y huellas, humanas y no humanas, el desarrollo lento pero continuo de un secreto a voces. Experimentar es, aquí, reconectar: avanzar con y hacia otrxs.
 
¿Puede la música ser un lenguaje interespecies? ¿Puede ser una zona de contacto entre presencias no dichas? Hay pasajes que se repiten; piden ser escuchados para encontrar, solo entonces, la diferencia.  Entre las paredes vivientes, lo que suena evoluciona. Sonidos afectados por el espacio y sus recovecos, siguiendo una misma intuición: de/formar, dar forma haciendo algo otro con la materia que hay. Kuxtal juega y se juega en la acústica imprevisible del espacio. Aquí un diálogo jamás cerrado con lo ancestral y abierto a lo por-venir. Solo queda dejarse invitar a este múltiple recorrido atento al lazo tentacular que nos arma y desarma. Hacer, con ellxs, este parcours descalzo, persistir en este refugio en permanente construcción

Pachamama Journeys (The Beginning)

Today's issue is devoted to the Colombian musical style - Cumbia. 

The name is derived from cumbé - translation from one of the African languages ​​the word "dance" 

Cumbia - pure style of folk music from the Colombian Atlantic coast. The dance and the melody first appeared in Colombia and Panama. Initially, the cumbia was fun of poor people, but in the 1960s - there was a massive dance craze according 1970s. Later dance form of this style, with a slow rhythm spread throughout Latin America. 

Dancing the cumbia to the accompaniment of flutes (gaita), maracas and tambourines, and later began to be used accordions, guitars and various other kinds of drums, in recent times - trumpet, saxophone, double bass and electric musical instruments.

Heute mach ich mal ein kleines Special für unsere Freunde von Something Slow aus Berlin. Das Projekt hat sich voll und ganz der langsamen elektronischen Musik verschrieben. Neben ihrem Hawaii Projekt als Isle9 haben sie in meinem Berliner Wohnzimmer-Lieblingsclub Beate Uwe die Something Slow Sonntags-Reihe ins Leben gerufen, die nun aber in die Höhen des Klunkerkranich gezogen ist. Mit einem besonderen Händchen für tolle Musiker wird hier Sonntags ins einer extrem entspannten Runde geschwooft, geplaudert, gekuschelt und den slowen Tönen gelauscht. Neben den schönen Events entsteht hier aber auch ein großes Kollektiv an Musikern die hier ihr Heimat gefunden haben. Ein großer Dank geht hier an Julia die ein ganz wunderbares Händchen für Talente hat … ich finde hier immer wieder Künstler die ich sonst nicht so schnell entdeckt hätte. Danke Julia für deinen Einsatz und die Liebe zur elektronischen Musik.

Mit diesem Set präsentiere ich nun auch einen Künstler aus meiner fränkischen Heimat den es wie so viele andere nach Berlin verschlagen hat. Und das ganze natürlich Live auf Something Slow.

Zu seinem Namen kam HOVER durch Zufall. Aber das war es auch schon. Denn was der Berliner DJ Nacht für Nacht an den Decks tut, hat mit Zufall rein gar nichts zu tun. Er kennt sich aus mit Musik. Er spielt vier Instrumente. Das merkt man. Noch besser kennt er sich aber damit aus, wie man aus Musik Körperbewegungen macht. Und das wiederum, merkt das Publikum. 

Irgendwo zwischen Tech-House, House und Disco findet HOVER genau den Punkt, der bei allen Menschen gute Laune auslöst. Mit diesem Sound hat er sich unter anderem in den Timetables renommierter Berliner Clubs, wie dem Sisyphos, dem Kater Blau und dem KitKat festgespielt. Garantiert kein Zufall. 

Für mich geht er mit den bpm ein gutes Viertel herunter, um auch dem langsamen Teil seines Repertoires Gehör zu verschaffen. Nico vielen Dank für das wunderbar abwechslungsreiche Set mit einer grandiosen Stimmung. Und nun wünsch ich euch viel Freude mit Something Slow.

Born and raised in Guanajuato, México, has been living for the past 9 years in Oslo, Norway. Having spent most of his childhood in the mountain hills of the Mexican "bajío" with his indigenous ancestors brought big influence to his life. Pre-hispanic, folkloric, Latin-American, tribal and shamanic sounds conform an essential part of his musical exploration. This is for him, a way to keep his roots alive. Saul introduces complex sets, giving as result a multi-cultural sounds journey which appears to transport you to ancient rituals, always by the hand, naturally, of powerful and hypnotic basslines. Oslo has welcomed him with open arms and he's now earned the city's nightlife respect due to his consistent work. With his international debut show at iconic party Woomoon Ibiza, he's proven his talent goes beyond borders and it's ready to turn the dancefloor into the party everyone wishes to experience.
