Chill Trip Sitter (Original Set)

Here is my set from this year's Shambhala Music Festival. Thank you to everyone who came out and packed the stage with me, it was truly a life changing moment! And special thanks to @willdabeastofficial for adding a unique live element with their beautiful horns. 

This was my third year officially on the lineup and my first year performing at The Pagoda stage. I took this opportunity to, in a way, reinvent my approach when writing my set. I leaned less on popular remixes and acapellas, and more on underground electronic music I enjoy. I took it as an opportunity to test out tons of music I have been quietly working on and all my favorite new edits.

OMFG! NYE 2K19: Worlds in Ashes

Before I got into production I was a DJ. It's something I've been doing since the age of 12 and has been my outlet for all of my stressors in life. This mix is a representation of my favorite music and favorite memories. Most of the edits in this mix are done on the decks, but there are a few I made in Ableton. 
I hope you guys enjoy this mix as much as I enjoyed making it:)

JJ’s groove is an homage to Montreal, which I’ve called home for the last 8 years. The boogie, Brazilian funk, and Afrobeat that you hear up and down Boulevard St. Laurent were big influences on the track - as was the overall joie de vivre of the city. 

As you might guess from the meek lyrical content and my conspicuous accent, this is one of the first times I’ve attempted to write a song in French. That being said, I felt it would be a good way to pay tribute to the city and culture that have given me so much.
