This isn’t the easiest thing for me to say, but I’m only delaying the inevitable by staying quiet. As of today, the Excess Content Tournament is officially cancelled.

There are a multitude of reasons why we have made this decision (some I world personally rather not discuss), however I want to assure you that none of them are out of disdain for the project itself or the grander tournament community as a whole. While EC didn’t work out, and there are definitely things I would have done differently, I in no way regret starting EC. Working on this project has been a blast, and I’ve gotten some great opportunities and met some even greater people through it.

I won’t leave you empty handed however, we’re gonna show off some of what we had prepared before production stopped, including some cut/scrapped content, and maybe even something special at the end. If I’m not too busy expect some of that to drop throughout the upcoming week.

I’m not sure if I’ll get around to doing another tournament-type project in the future (believe me, I have ideas), but even if I don’t I want to thank everyone who’s stayed with us this long. It genuinely means the world to me that people were interested enough in this silly little tournament to stick around.
