Level 42

Deserves its pathetic title: not only does this mix travel distance between continents, including music from places like California, Hong Kong, Sao Paolo and Kiev – with a strong focus of DnB´s own country of course - , but also travelling between the delicate subgenres of deep, neuro and dungeon drum&bass, weaving intricate patterns to create the journey in your mind. This is mainly releases from 3rd quarter of 2022, bringing some of the most creative minds of the newrofunk scene to one table. All of these artists are killing it atm and you can go ahead and buy any of these tunes right now!

And yes, it was also a journey in terms of me redoing it like 17 times. I think this is the maximum of what I can get out of two players – and please excuse the occasional bumpy ride, for whatever reason I´m still in the “No Sync” fam and these kind of double-droppy mixes are hard to do without! So take it with all its little flaws, hope you´ll enjoy it anyway.

Savage Tapez! is a mixtape series that brings physical releases of DJ mixes with unique artwork to your beloved tapedeck! This some rare shit.. welcome to Vol.1! 

Side B - shows the craft of DJ Saxe and actually follows a concept:

Oftentimes, the second drop of a tune is left behind for the sake of a fast-paced style of mixing - it’s kinda immanent to the genre.

This being said, the intricate world of neurofunk music offers a lot of hidden beauty in the variation of the second drop, composers sometimes even leave a trademark sign or hidden messages in it. 

It’s time to let an exquisite selection of these „pearls in the shadow“ shine in bright light and do a mix that contains *only* 2nds, revisiting 2022 and 2023’s most exciting examples of this gimmick and throw them in a furious edit of anger and filth.

In addition, it’s kinda fun and a little challenging to ride this because if you’re late once, you’re out -  second drops are shorter than you think!

This was a physical mixtape exclusive for some months, now we put it out here for y’all❤️

Hi! I´m  german DJ named SAXE, into Drum&Bass and Dubstep (vinyl passionate), and I’m here to share my work with you as much as to get inspired by yours.
