An interstellar cosmic journey: fragments of Air and The Doors are picturesquely framed by an afrobeat pulse. Sonic deflagrations similar to meteorites in wild orbit interweave over a dreamy melody, the necessary build-up to a landing on the lunar Sea of Tranquility.

Afro Moon

Bass and drums thrust forward with a tight adrenaline-laced rhythm reminiscent of a hunting cheetah (ghepardo) in action. The rhythmic guitar maintains a steady afrobeat drive, over which, a Morricone-style melody announces itself with rock overtones.

The title track is also the most ambitious tune of the album in its scope.
The rhythms, sounds, and vocals here belong to the southern shore of the Mediterranean. An epic relentless crescendo, a single voice slowly morphing into a collective exclamation. Berber shouts, saturation, handclaps, a groove like a tidal wave getting ready to crash onto the shore.

ALDO, BLAKE and YOUSSEF (respectively from Italy, England and Morocco) first met each other in spring 2015 in Bologna, Italy. It became immediately apparent to them that they shared a special bond, a connection on an emotional and musical level. The trio, since its inception, started playing many live gigs and experimenting with original material. Their first album, "”, self-produced, came out under the artist name "Aldo w/ Blake Franchetto & Youssef Ait Bouazza", in February 2016, and the second album "” (Brutture Moderne/Audioglobe) was released on 24th February, 2017. As of 2018 the trio decide to adopt the official artist name SAVANA FUNK. 04.09.2018 saw the release of their third album, "" (Brutture Moderne/Audioglobe). In the summer of 2019 SAVANA FUNK performed numerous times at the Jova Beach Party summer festivals alongside internationally acclaimed Italian artist Jovanotti, where the band played to audiences of close to 40,000 with Jovanotti onstage. In the winter months of 2019 they were called upon twice as the core band of the prestigious program Propaganda Live, performing live to millions of viewers worldwide on Channel 7 TV (La7). In 2021 the band teamed up with record label "Garrincha GoGo" and released their fourth album (first with this label) entitled "" on the 12th of June.
