Victor Ruiz's label VOLTA serves up a fantastic EP, this time with Balthazar & JackRock behind the three original tunes. This DJ and producer duo have made a real impact with their tunes on the likes of Drumcode, Terminal M, Plus 8 and Filth on Acid and do so again here.

Solar Deity opens up with grading bass and the sort of raw techno drums that make a whole warehouse march. There is real tension in the synths and a vocal brings the soul. Princess of the Sun is another hard edge banger with synths that sound as if they have been fired from a machine gun. They light up the sky and will get hands in the air. Last of all is Vibrant, another powerful track, this time with loopy and heady synths that will boggle the brain as the glitchy percussion rides on. An epic breakdown features cosmic keys raining down from above before the drop blows the roof off.

This is another superb EP from all.

With her trademark shock of untamed dark hair, the Nigeria-born artist can be spotted in a DJ booth by profile alone, rocking crowds before she even drops a record. In-demand all over the world, Moudaber has played everything from intimate after-hours clubs; to revered nightclub institutions like Space, DC-10, Output and Stereo; to massive festival stages, including Glastonbury, Electric Daisy Carnival and Coachella. She’s also been featured by the New York Times, CNN and Billboard.

Nicole follows up her 2015 release on Truesoul with ‘Your Love Picks Me Up’, a 2 track EP featuring a remix from in-form producer Marco Faraone. Kicking off with Nicole’s original, the vocal hook teases itself in and is guaranteed to get stuck in your head. Expect to this one sung back at you on any dance floor. Marco Faraone is one of techno’s fastest rising stars as his remix is a prime example of why, putting his sinister twist on the track with pounding drums and sharp piano stabs. This is one for the after hours…

Two of techno’s most recognized names, Minneapolis’ Dustin Zahn and Stockholm’s Joel Mull, join forces for the next EP on Sweden’s Parabel label, Way of the Wild.

The four-tracker is the result of countless years of friendship, and several solid months of work in the studio together. The EP begins with “Vesperum Winds,” a track carried forward by rolling drums and ominous notes, possibly inspired by the northern evening winds that engulf the Swedish landscape outside of Stockholm, where Mull still lives.
