With fabric 72, rhadoo follows his Romanian compatriot and [a:rpia:r] cohort Petre Inspirescu onto the fabric mix series, with an intoxicating, atmospheric aural excursion. The vast majority of the tracks are unreleased and unheard before this project, representing a new and burgeoning scene in Eastern Europe. Letting the music do the talking as usual,  rhadoo has personally selected 4 tracks from the mix to press exclusively to a pair of limited edition vinyl 10”s.

On the first disc, Adrian Niculae’s mechanical ‘conTRASt’ juxtaposes nagging metallic sounds with a rumbling low end, whilst on the reverse Yourayo’s more organic ‘Blueprint’ features warm synths, a melancholic piano refrain and a rounded bassline.

The second sampler sees ‘Fast Lane 4’ by Traian Chereches live up to its name, the clever weaving of elements maintaining urgency throughout, and Vlad Caia’s ‘Ticktockclockityclock’ closes out the selection with a suitably metronomic groove.

All tracks are exclusive to this pair of vinyl 10”s, which are strictly limited to 300 copies each, and the fabric 72 release. Both have a certain unique quality and vibe to them. One minimal and trippy, the other haunting and mysterious :) We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Continuing it's inter-galactic journey through space and time, Moss Co. enlists two fast-rising Balkan stars in Nu Zau and Loopdeville.

The A side is Nu Zau's Cumse Cuvine. An 11 minute groove-driven drum track, filled with syncopated rhythms, emotive tones and psychedelic vocal samples. A tried and tested weapon both on its own and as a layering tool.

Loopdeville takes a more moody approach with Piance. Pads and pianos swirl around a strong central groove, building and releasing tension as they go. Heads down...

As festival season goes on forever, so can The Model's four tracks. These heavy hitting floor stompers are pretty much the difference between slow­burners and longplay tracks. 

Classical yet full of personality in his approach, The Model brought the conventional and unconventional together -­ it's throwback, it's familiar, it's techno, it's house but most of all, it's big and surprising. The Model comes with a seemingly lifelong experience and background of constant rinsing and testing what works and what doesn't for all sorts of crowds, so all four tracks, though different in style, are booming with vocal flourishes and themes that will get stuck in your head. 

This is a rare example of an EP that you can play out in its entirety at different times in one set.

Recently initiated into the Lola ED crew, the Romanian trio Premiesku (Livio, Roby and George G), step up with an exceptional 3-track EP for the Apollonia label.

Defining what it is to be a ‘real’ live act, Premiesku describe themselves as a techno band. On realising their gear wasn’t living up to expectations, there was nothing else for it but to rip it apart! Rebuilding, reconnecting, re-casing, a very personalised and totally unique setup was born. Now armed with extra capabilities and an additional excitement to experiment, Premiesku combines live rhythm sections with synths and FX, all without a computer in sight… it’s no surprise then that Fabric, Amnesia and Electrosanne are the calibre of performances to look forward to. Working with this original setup of customised hardware and known to love a good old jam session, More 4 EP is a reflection of their movement through three distinct moods during one such studio lock-in. Each track fitting for a particular moment in the party, they have already been tried and tested many times within the Apollonia b2b2b sets this summer. Title track More 4 has a genuine old skool techno feel about it. On a mission to command and destroy the main room, it builds up and up, sucking you in with a softly sung female vocal and smooth synths. Instantly uplifting, REAL’s light and bouncy percussion is full of swing and groove. The rolling effect combined with a phat bass underneath, perfectly providing the depth, makes this more than enticing to move to. To round off the EP, Premiesku lay down the Romanian touch. A fierce bassline, signature glitches and infectious tribal beats… the melodic minimal of Despre ei makes this an expertly crafted example of their deeper side.

The full story of Romanian genius Rodion Ladislau Roșca and the music he recorded as Rodion G.A. involves the stifling artistic climate of Communist Romania in the early 80s, the ingenuity of amateur recording, obsessive record collecting, early synthesizers, unheard archival recordings, and eventual recognition. Basically the kinds of things that make our heart beat faster!
