From their roots as Hip-Hop producers, Mat.Joe have moved into producing and playing crispy House beats paired with rhythmic Soul and Hip-Hop elements, resulting in a deep, dancefloor-approved sound. Opener Galactica sets the tone with electric pads and spacious, echo-ridden synths that create a playful yet compelling melody with a highly memorable bassline. Euplea is arguably the most stirring cut of the four, with a whirlwinding pad and incessant bass that emerge from the first bar. Berlin techno icon Ellen Allien marks the launch of her brand new (and aptly named) music label, UFO Inc, with a two-track EP that drops on January 28.

Ahead of the release, Mixmag is pleased to share Ellen Allien's lead single off the EP, 'UFO' - a track that serves as "a mediator between earth and heaven, i.e. the concrete dancefloor and a feeling of transcendental rapture - the kind of track that lifts you up from where you dance and takes you away to new spheres." 

Filled with playful texture, rotund synths and acid-tinged euphoria, 'UFO' is considered "the definite UFO Inc. manifesto: rough music from and for the here and now, opening a pathway into the greater unknown."

This uplifting and cosmic slammer has been on heavy rotation by Ellen since summer 2018 and is bound to continue to make a considerable impression on dancefloor everywhere.

Since launching in early 2019, Dennis Cruz and Eddy M's MÜSE imprint has quickly seen the pairing curate one of the scenes most impressive rising labels - welcoming the likes of Tube & Berger, Piem and Alan Nieves alongside rising talents including Gruuve and Bizen Lopez, whilst also serving as a key outlet to release their own productions and material. Hot on the heels of Cruz's latest stand-out EP, 'KMA', early-August welcomes the debut split EP offering on the label as both co-founders return alongside one another for the very first time to serve up the twotrack 'Show Me / Five'.

As Clarisse speeds towards the magical 100 release mark, the label's main man maintains his own recent in-house productive stride by pointing you towards yet another hot destination. Swiftly on the heels of 'Diva', Mendo has nothing but the summer in his sights as 'La Ramona' aims to conquer all. Revisiting the label head's quote of wanting 'to produce a song, then play it in front of thousands of people and make them hysterical', 'La Ramona' is the weapon to do exactly that.

From the first beat laced with bass determination and percussion tingling with anticipation, Mendo purposely teasing you in order to detonate the full impact of what's to come, 'La Ramona' bears all the hallmarks of becoming a certified tribal classic.
