5 years ago I begun an awesome adventure called Suara. After a few records the label started to be called the label of the cats. Nowadays it's one of the hottest new brands of the techno/house music industry. Today we arrive to the release #100, a very special one. That's why I've asked to some of my fav artists ever to remix "Southen Instinct", one of my most popular records of the latest years. Riva Starr, Vince Watson and Satoshi Tomiie are on the controls of this kitty ship.

Gregor Tresher kicks off 2015 looking to break new soil with his first ever full release for John Digweed's Bedrock Records.   

Last year was as hectic as ever for the Gregor and he came into it on high from the success of his artist album Nightcolours and having closed out 2013 by releasing an astonishing Laurent Garnier remix of the title track, on his own imprint.   Time to relax a little maybe? Not a chance. January saw the remixed version of the album hit the stores and this was backed within a few weeks by 'Taurus', Gregor's enticing collaboration with Petar Dundov. The summer saw him remix the Chymera classic 'Shadowdancer' and he closed 2014 with the superb 'Midas / Disturber' double-header.   

Somewhat of a musical chameleon, Tresher is as at home creating deeper shades of house for the likes of Moon Harbour and Ovum as he is techno rhythms for Music Man, Cocoon and Drumcode.   With label boss Digweed a huge fan, Bedrock is yet another perfect fit for the German and he opens his account with the mighty, melodic and Kraken'esque 'Goliath' and the razor-sharp lightning bolt that is 'Stormblade'.

Riva Starr – Raw Edits Vol 1

Renowned for his ability to bring creativity and flair to his wild remixes, edits and re-edits, Riva Starr is a hugely welcome new addition into the Saved fold. Bringing a special collection of new edits, the producer displays the kind of dexterity that has made him so impossible to pigeonhole over the last decade.

First up, Riva delivers a driving and energetic mashup of DJ ROLAND CLARK’s “The First Time” and Paul C & Paolo Martini’s “Take Some Time.” Frenetic percussion in the top end and futuristic FXs create a party-focused pace as the dubby atmospheres and pumping beats add the power and momentum. The ghetto-funk vocal adds another dimension to make this Riva’s own personal homage to the history of house music. The raw edit of “Chasing Autumns” by Taras Van De Voorde continues that exploration further, tapping into a unique mix of classic sounding house with rich piano chords and emotive strings; and a modern, raw sounding warehouse energy that burns and stomps away underneath.

Taking things into a much deeper hue, Riva with his colourful edit of Luca Morris’ “Play By Play.” Built around subtly shifting melodies, a deep, rolling bassline and tumbling drums, the track shuffles forward with bags of personality and charisma. Intoxicating and heady, this one will keep heads down whilst infiltrating the feet. Riva’s edit of Rino Cerrone & Flavio Diaz’s “Extraordinary Wiring” is a dizzying, head-spinning workout that swirls and shakes with an unsteadying disposition. Funky drums interplay with highly distorted synths and mechanical sounding basslines to create a sound that is at once playful, addictive and unstoppable.

A new name to join the ever-expanding Truesoul roster is ‘Okain’. His first EP on Truesoul majestically crosses the paths between house and techno. Using deep underlying sub bass rhythms throughout his tracks, Okain creates grooves that maintain an extremely funky feel throughout this EP. The use of percussion helps to reinforce this and keep the free flowing momentum going strong.

In The Club, the latest collaboration from Spanish producer TecHouzer and Mexican DJ Djahir Miranda, released on Crazy Nutz Music, represents a vibrant and refined statement of Tech House, crafted specifically for the club environment. TecHouzer, a veteran with over two decades in the electronic music scene, is known for his fresh and dancefloor-friendly style, boasting performances at iconic venues such as FABRIK, Groove, and Supercervecería de Radical in Madrid. His productions have featured on respected labels including Hotfingers, Klaphouse Records, Be One Records, and Tribal Kitchen, garnering support from established artists like UMEK, Fatima Hajji, DJ Oliver, and wAFF. Complementing this, Djahir Miranda, a seasoned Mexican producer and DJ with more than 18 years of experience, is distinguished by his accelerated style, deep basslines, percussive drops, and potent synthesizers. The EP opens with In The Club, operating at a steady 128 BPM and set in the key of 1A. This track features a driving, dry, and precise kick drum that anchors the production, while crisp snares, clean hi-hats, and subtle tribal percussion weave a dynamic yet minimal groove that energizes without overwhelming. The bassline is fluid and warm, complementing the percussion perfectly. The female vocal repeatedly chants In The Club, treated with clarity and enveloping sound design, forming a hypnotic hook central to the tracks identity.
