Its only fitting that the first song we ever wrote be the first one we upload.  We wrote this the first time we caught up for a real jam.   All recording done at SDHQ on our budget set up and are still a work in progress.  Hope yous enjoy!  

Coffee on my mind

Braided fingers

The song, "little lemon tree" began as a poem to Tara's son, Keowne.
Written to let him know that it doesn't matter how much he will grow and change, she will always remain the same for him.
It was with a strange ease that the poem became song.
Tara describes the song as;
"short and sweet, just like him."

Brad was working 4500kms away in the Northern Territory when this song was written.  It was the first song that Brad and Tara wrote seperately.  Sending through the guitar recording on his iphone, Tara wrote the lyrics with an ease that she knew they were onto something special.  Tara recorded her vocals straight back into her phone and sent it back to Brad.  It was an amazing feeling to know that even with the distance they could still make music.

This song is about a break up and was written a long time ago.  It was one of the first songs we ever recorded.  The lyrics tell the story.  A work in progress like all the others.  Hope you enjoy :)

Avoidance is about the unwanted hold that someone can have over you, even when they are no longer a part of your life.

Avoidance

Sitting around a bonfire in the winter of 2010, warmed by the crackling wood and the stiff burn of Jack Daniels, Brad lifted a borrowed guitar and began to play. Filled with courage brought about by the liquor, Tara opened her mouth, And began to sing. 

Saving Dale was born that night. 

With an ease which astounded them, the ideas, melodies and songs began to flow from the small room of Brads northern NSW home.

Being friends for 10 years prior to Saving Dale, Brad and Tara were surprised at the raw, emotion filled music they were creating.
Showcasing 8 original tracks at Salt at Kingscliff in mid 2011, a beautiful mixture of folk and indie pop was reviled to friends, family and fellow musio's.
The night was a huge success which established Saving Dale as a sort after local band.

Deciding to peruse the dream of becoming musicians saw the band members with almost 4500 kms distance between them for 6 months in late 2011 as Brad worked to build a better foundation for the band to launch off. 

This distance welded the pair into a stronger, more focused band with a combined dream, distinctive sound and vision.
