In July 2017, "Glass Elevator" hit the Proton Music catalogue with its driving rhythmic foundations and flowing melodic lines. Now returning courtesy of a Particles remix edition, both the title track and partner track, "Polaris", are reworked by Sri Lankan and German talents.

From the Colombo capital on the glistening Indian Ocean cost, Dimuth K has hit upon a formula for success with his unique brand of underground house. With an innate passion for dance music growing inside him from an early age, Dimuth found himself performing in Sri Lanka's finest clubs alongside the likes of Guy J, Jeremy Olander and Cid Inc. The world of music production opened up in 2013, ultimately leading to a debut on Big Toys Production in mid-2015. Going on to produce a raft of original and remix material for such leading imprints as Black Hole, Balkan Connection and Movement Recordings, the Dimuth K sound has been recognised at home with a "Best DJ/Producer" award in 2017. As his reputation continues to grow far beyond his island home, support has come from Nick Warren, Max Graham and Hernan Cattaneo. A September 2017 Particles debutant with a remix of Tim Penner's "Lost Again", Dimuth K returns to the label with a typically mature offering that clearly resonates with the original as the melodic refrains from "Glass Elevator" drift across a deep and multi-faceted breakdown. A driving rhythm and ticking hi-hat percussive cadence provides dancefloor credentials with a subtle, subterranean bassline in force, to create an impressive remix.

An artist with abundant talent, Stephan Pietack, has been at the cutting edge of the underground scene since the mid-2000s with his MoodFreak moniker. Inspired by the "groove and depth" brought to the scene by such acts as Boom Jinx and Hybrid, Pietack hit the production trail with impressive results. Supported by the DJ elite of Above and Beyond, Armin Van Buuren and Paul Oakenfold and with remixes for Arty, Dennis Shepherd and Van Buuren himself, the MoodFreak name has certainly reached the highest echelons of the industry. Thus, over a century of production credits can be found next to the MoodFreak name for industry giants including Silk Music, Enhanced and Coldharbour. Forming the YOMO imprint alongside the iconic figure of Mike Koglin has further cemented an impressive reputation. Finding himself drawn to Berlin's deeper, underground side in recent times, a penchant for tech house and techno has begun to feature in the MoodFreak production arsenal as he now makes his debut on Particles with an outstanding remix of "Polaris". Retaining the hypnotic melodic framework of the original, anchored by driving beat and off-beat hi-hat percussion. The rhythmic stabs of the original filter into sonic range providing the basis for a shimmering and free-flowing lead line that features post-breakdown, with an acid-tinged, bassline providing the perfect aural accompaniment. The result is a beautifully understated affair that creates a wonderful reworking of "Polaris".

With the "Glass Elevator" shooting skywards once more, superb remixes from Dimuth K and MoodFreak can be found within.

Happy New Year! 2019 has just begun but we, at elrow Music, want to keep up the pace and the good vibes flowing with our music from the very beginning. That's why we've summoned two big names in the scene to start our year in full force.

Pirupa & Leon have teamed up to deliver this ERM 147, that goes by the name of 'Our Sound EP'. The two-tracker opens with 'Our Sound (Original Mix)', a track that starts with a very playful percussion, but soon becomes a trippy and organic affair, thanks to the atmosphere created by the organs, the synth melodies and the deep vocals. A true dancefloor killer.

'Now Walk (Original Mix)' is a complete different affair. It starts in full force with a perfectly recognizable techy progression and continues with an interesting vocal line. But make no mistake, this is a straight dancefloor breaker, with almost no melodies and both percussion and FX heavy. All in all, a great deliver by the Italian duo, that sets the bar high for the rest of this 2019. Challenge accepted! Stay tuned!

Amitabha Records has quickly become a beacon for Argentina’s vibrant progressive house scene. "A pleasure as it is to welcome new artists to the Proton Music roster, Color Ray is no exception. Debuting with his "First Light", a pair of sparkling remixes come from Greece and Norway.

From the sprawling state of Maharashta in Western India, Shrinivas Sundar has been a shining star in the underground progressive house fraternity. With regular DJ performances across his Pune hometown, Vas' Color Ray moniker has enraptured audiences with scintillating sets. A production career in tandem has seen a clutch of impressive releases with his work featuring on the likes of Electronic Tree, City Life and fellow countryman, Praveen Achary's Juicebox Music. A pair of remixes for Biologik in 2012 and Andre Sobota in 2016 now sees Color Ray debut on our flagship imprint with a sublimely crafted track that epitomises a sparkling melodic sound that delights with its flowing sustained pads and dynamic groove. Building in effervescent fashion, "First Light" erupts with an earwork motif that then blends with an evolving arpeggio into the second movement and breakdown. Hitting its straps again in the final section, an irresistible combination of rhythm and melody encapsulates the Color Ray sound.

An artist with a long-association with the Particles and Proton Music imprints, Simos Tagias' career at the vanguard of the underground dance industry has seen some 350 production credits tell their own story of the Greek artist's talent with a plethora of releases for the likes of Sudbeat, Replug and Movement Recordings. A pair of high-profile release original EPs have lit up the Proton Music catalogue as January 2017's "Airlock" and October 2018's "Audacity" saw a quartet of 24-carat gems showcase Tagias' work, while remixes for Tim Penner, Desaturate and Luc Angenehm demonstrated another side to his production personality. Returning, the Simos Tagias remix immediately impresses with a driving dancefloor rhythm and whip-cracking kick. Evolving at pace, the central melodic motif from Color Ray's work comes to the fore as an arpeggio blends immaculately to create a high-octane remix of typical quality. [...]

PREMIERE: Color Ray - First Light (Simos Tagias Remix) [Proton Music]

The latest release from Clubsonica Records welcomes Parallel Universe back to the label for their debut EP 'Trip | Galaxy'. Hailing from Colombia, Ethereal Mist and Mauro Pierotti make up the Parallel Universe production duo. The Medellin residents made their Clubsonica debut in October of last year with a contribution to the label's ADE 2018 Sampler, before eventually capping off the year with a successful single on Stellar Fountain. Now returning to their country's premiere progressive house imprint, Parallel Universe presents their debut EP alongside remixes from Rick Pier O'Neil and Juan Pablo Torrez. 

Beginning with 'Trip', the Colombian duo set the tone with a storyboard of ethereal motifs and detailed design. Anchored by a warm, buoyant groove and waves of exotic percussion, it's an evolving atmospheric storyboard which first captures your imagination. Delicate shades and ghostly vocals just add to its enigmatic nature, before eventually melting down into a transcendent break and perfectly setting up a pulsating finale. The companion piece 'Galaxy' follows suit with tough beats, rolling rhythms and dynamic stabs. Built around a series of vocal fragments and tantalizing arps, the first act is quite mystical in nature. As it strips down into the main break you get what is perhaps one of the EPs most memorable moments; as warm bass swells, airy refrains and an expanding vocal narrative unite as the beats drop for a colourful sonic moment.

The lone interpretation of 'Trip' is provided by Rick Pier O'Neil who makes his fifth appearance on the label. Rick's cross pollination of progressive house and techno is highly regarded by both his fans and contemporaries. It's this distinctive sound which has paved the way for releases on Beatfreak Recordings, Sudbeat Music and JOOF Recordings, while he continues to be a favourite of both Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Now landing back on Clubsonica, Rick provides a stunning rendition of 'Trip'. Incredibly rhythmic and with fresh design qualities, it moves powerfully across its seven minute journey. Mounds of bass undulate while vocal delays and spastic arps converge in the ultimate melodic vortex. Sweeping noise and crisp effects soon follow and you're effortlessly taken away into an astral wonderland. Powerful and concise, its cosmic storyboard plays off smooth chord changes and timely modulation for a string of magic moments, making for an exhilarating third act finale.

The release concludes with Clubsonica label boss Juan Pablo Torrez providing the lone interpretation of 'Galaxy'. Long regarded as one Colombia's premiere progressive house talents, the Medellín resident has landed releases on BeatFreak Recordings, ICONYC and Parquet Recordings, while earning continued support from the genres top tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J. Now returning to his comfortable home of Clubsonica, Juan crafts a stellar rendition of 'Galaxy' to round the release out in style. Always a creative remixer, Juan provides a smooth yet powerful version which complements the original wonderfully. The groove gets beefed up with punchy kicks and thick slabs of bass while a band of mountainous rhythms charges forward. The rugged qualities sit in stark contrast to the melodic elements, eventually leading to an emotive break, before a frayed modular peak reignites the groove for a powerful finale. A superb remix from Juan which rounds out an impressive EP from Parallel Universe, who continue to be one of Colombia's most promising new acts.
