In December 2018, Erdi Irmak embarked on another chapter in a successful music career with his "Hidden Arcadia" series on Proton Music. Fast forward to 2021 and the talented Turkish artist presents the sixth incarnation of the series with three new original tracks and a pair of remixes from Ireland and UAE based artists making up "Vol. 6".

"In Depth" is a typically impressive opener as a delicate percussive structure creates a central pillar from which smooth melodic branches grow organically around it. Gently pulsating pads add depth as an enveloping melodic trope creates a warm sonic blanket. "Far Apart" immediately showcases Erdi Irmak's trademark groove as a laidback rhythmic foundation replete with crunchy bass and rolling beat, paves the way for free-flowing melodic lines to meander across the 8-minute piece. Textured pads and white-noise effects complete a powerful narrative. The third original track sees "Around the River" delight with an intelligently worked cadence rippling across proceedings before syncopated synth phrases sit in perfect harmony. Developing with ease, a breakdown crescendo creates the sonic environment for the second half to become a hypnotic organic house triumph.

There are few more iconic names within the underground dance fraternity than, Silinder. Able to point to a plethora of Proton Music releases that include 2012's "Corrupt", 2013's "Solas" and 2014's "Basement", a clutch of remixes for the likes of Oliver Lieb, Derek Howell and Andre Sobota are now followed by a standout interpretation of "Nowhere Land". Originally part of "Vol. 5", the Silinder remix immediately impresses with its innovative use of melodic themes resonant in Erdi's original as a relaxed groove flows out of the 8-minute track with a hint of Lemon Jelly evident. Over an evolving sonic landscape, evocative chord progressions and the vocal cut central to the original, create a rich tapestry of sound woven to an expert conclusion in the second half to create a dynamic and colourful picture.

An artist who has seen his reputation grow steadily over the past 18 months, Ejaz Ahamed has seen a select crop of releases feature on the likes of Stellar Fountain, Perspectives Digital and OLD SQL. A quartet of remixes for Particles, not least in November 2020's reworking of Juan Deminicis' "Synchronicity", now sees the rising Dubai star make his Proton Music debut with a glorious reworking of "The Floating Bridge of Heaven". Originally appearing on "Vol. 4", the Ejaz Ahamed remix opens with strong framework of heavy beat, straight hi-hats and cavernous bassline. Unconstrained by the rhythmic backdrop, melodic motifs from the original float delicately in hypnotic patterns in juxtaposition to a rising filtered bass sweep. The result is a glorious combination of traditional dancefloor structure and unencumbered organic melody.

A sixth instalment sees Erdi Irmak joined by Silinder and Ejaz Ahamed to create a perfect "Hidden Arcadia".

One of the most productive Mexican producers in the last few months is definitely Alberto Hernandez! After his debut appearance on The Purr, with the beautiful track "Secrets Of The Heart", which was part of our first The Purr "Arrivals" compilation, his career took an upward trajectory. The great releases he signs for Everything Will Be OK, Canopy Sounds, 3rd Avenue, Akbal Music and the magnificent Hoomidass, the publishing house of the great Armen Miran, make Albert one of the best music producers of Organic House sound.

This time Alberto also signs his first original release called "All We Have Is Now", where in addition to two beautiful originals the EP is accompanied by a remix of one of our favorites, Audiotones!

As August takes its last breath, TOR reconnects with the Barcelona-based Brazilian - Pedro Capelossi. Pedro is an important figure in both the thriving Sao Paulo electronic scene, as well as the quintessential dance community in the Catalonian mecca. Capelossi has launched onto the international scene with a production style rooted in jazz-driven melodic house. After vibrant projects on the likes of Seven Villas and Dream Culture, we’re thrilled to have him back on TOR for his second EP on the imprint.

On the B-side, Capelossi locks us into a crisp house groove seasoned with round and punchy basswork. Energy escalates effortlessly via lush soundscapes and piano riffs, balancing organic instrumentals with modern character. Relapse is a tune that sounds like the past, present, and future.

An artist with a cast-iron reputation within the underground dance fraternity, GMJ continues to chart a stratospheric upwards trajectory with an ever-growing production portfolio. Now returning to Proton Music, the Australian star presents a pair of new tracks through his "Rise Above" EP.

A Particles and Proton Music veteran with a stellar cast of original and remix material over both labels, Gavin Griffin continues to provide the flagship imprint with a regular supply of increasingly high-quality music that saw "Sovereign Reality" and "Catharsis" released in October 2017 and May 2019. Now returning with his third solo original EP, the title track is a typically sumptuous offering that is characterised by a head-shaking groove and expertly crafted bassline that evolves imperceptibly over time. Through a panoply of white-noise effects, multi-layered pads and subtle synth phrasing, "Rise Above" reaches a rousing denouement with spine-tingling moments expertly placed throughout. Continuing the atmospheric narrative of its predecessor, "Unbound Reality" finds free-flowing melodies meandering across its 7-minute voyage alongside intermittent vocal sample. Wrapped delicately around a crisp rhythmic shell, syncopated motifs and powerful beat are the perfect juxtaposition to the unencumbered melody.

Another Proton regular sees Simos Tagias return to the label after a remix of LADS in January 2021. Responsible for 2017's "Airlock" and 2018's "Audacity", the Greek producer has also presided over a clutch of high-profile remixes for the likes of Tim Penner and Soulwerk, while also being remixed by such esteemed names as James Monro and Petar Dundov. Once again hitting new heights, the Simos Tagias remix of "Rise Above" is a bold, pulsating affair that uses the themes central to GMJ's original and reframes them within a powerful new rhythmic framework. Using organic house inspired vocal phrasing, new melodies appear at the stripped-back breakdown before a refined arpeggiated sequence gives shifts aural focus in the second half.

A veteran of the underground dance scene, Savvas is another artist with a long-established connection with electronic music. After a 2011 debut for Bellboy Records, Savvas has found himself featuring on Sag and Tre, Magician On Duty and Anjunadeep. The "Mindfulness" EP was a notable Particles highlight in early 2019 while a remix of Rick Pier O'Neil's "Earth Mover" in July 2017 and a full debut EP to follow, mark an impressive emergence on Proton Music. Reworking "Unbound Reality", the wandering melodic lines of the original are complemented by a glittering arpeggiated sequence, revealed in the second movement, and extending into the beatless breakdown. Additional melodic phrases from the Savvas studio lilt delicately in the second half accompanied in seamless fashion with GMJ original components. The resultant sonic tapestry is a joy to behold.

Creating a new twin-track offering of unparalleled pedigree with contributions from Simos Tagias and Savvas, GMJ continues to "Rise Above" with impressive regularity.

Bolivian producer Pablo Asturizaga, very famous for the local scene because he has been DJing since he was 17 years old. After a DJ career, where he shared the stage with performers such as John Aquaviva, Stefano Noferini, Eelke Kleijn, Matías Aguayo, Darin Epsilon, Jimi Jules, DJS Pareja, Juan Hansen, Bufi, Bebbeta among others, as a student of one of the leading producers in sphere of organic house music - Nacho Varela, signs his first releases for Tezana Records, Suprematic, 925 Music, The Purr, etc.
Judging by the quality of his ideas, the variety in the combination of melodies and grooves, Pablo has the potential to be part of the Top 100 musicians of the organic house genre.

Greek-based, Chicago-born Savvas is a producer and dj. Way back in time, Savvas came in contact with electronic music in 1992, discovering his preference and talent for deejaying he soon started playing around clubs and open-air parties since the late nineties. He joined forces with Vasilis Giouvris aka Yosebu in 2000 and under the name Acropod they released their first album on Klik records and a few singles and remixes on labels around the globe.
