About Volume IV: Tho this DJ mix was originally made back in the summer of 2019, later expanded on for my homies’ Halloween party a few months later, then revisited and further refined in the summer of 2020, it’s since been my most performed DJ set due to its diverse mix of original mashups, pretty much one after the next; sometimes even has 3 or 4 different tracks mashed together. Compared to the other six volumes, the vibe of this mix is def far more suited to what you’d hear in the club or at a festival. Hope you enjoy it!

About Volume V: This mix is a special one as when I heard each track at some point in time, before compiling them into a DJ set, they all had a profound and emotional impact on me. On a side note, a challenge I set for myself towards the end of 2020 was to create more DJ sets that told a kind of personal story, from beginning to end, or in the very least, followed a singular theme. So fwiw, the “ASOMNiiA AFTER DARK” DJ Mix recordings that follow this formula are Volumes II, V, and VII (aka 2, 5, and 7).

About Volume VI: This mix is the longest and most eclectic DJ set of all seven AAD mixes. Fwiw the second longest was VOL. I at approx 1 hr 11 min; these two are the only mixes that cross the hour mark.

About Volume VII: Although this mix is the final DJ set recording of the seven mixes planned for this series "ASOMNiiA AFTER DARK," there will be other AAD mixes in the future. It's been a lotta fun and a delightful experience building all these sets in the past couple years, performing them live (both in real time and virtually), and finally being able to share them with you and the rest of the world on SoundCloud.

And bc it was quite the journey, such is the reason why these seven mixes followed the theme of “being on the road” traveling to various places at different times and weather conditions, made evident through the cover art (from photos I’ve taken over the years). This “road trip” theme is also reflected in the mixes themselves, as the first track from AAD: VOL. I is “WDPK 83.7 FM” by Daft Punk, and the final track from AAD: VOL. VII is “Late Night” by ODESZA. Fwiw, I also intentionally chose those two tracks as Daft Punk were my intro to electronic music, way back in my childhood, and ODESZA was the inspirational catalyst for me back in 2018 that drove me to finally produce my own beats, as well as learn how to DJ.
