The main melody comes from a rough sketch I created when I first started writing, but not releasing until years later, chiptunes. It later became fleshed out on piano, then rewritten into a woodwind quintet, then into another chiptune arrangement, where it was then left to stagnate on my harddrive for a while. Fastforward a few years; I start
to learn Famitracker pretty well and one day sat down to really listen to ‘Yes’s “Roundabout.” Suddenly, I had an opening idea for the song and a general feel of how it
should develop.

As the song has gone through many changes, so have I since it’s inception through good times and bad; meeting new people, losing some as well; creating hope and opportunity with my own two hands while losing them from factors and elements beyond my control; the focus of creating “Emerson” was to reflect personal growth from decisions, maturity through encounters and life experiences.  

The title comes from one of my favorite music groups that inspired me during my mid teen years. It’s also the name I’ve decided to give my future son, when/if that ever
happens.

Made with Famitracker (MMC5, FDS, VRC6, Namco) and OpenMPT for backing pads and

Hello! My name’s KCVisualD, and I am a legally blind Visual Development Artist and Digital Illustrator. Due to a rare eye disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa, I am no longer capable of maintaining a studio pipeline; however--albeit very slowly--I still very actively pursue my own artistic endeavors. 

Pieces of Eight and I started work on this project sometime ago, and finding the time to collaborate our efforts was quite a challenge; however, despite all the hurdles, we feel that our mutual love for both creative mediums (animation/music) really came through in this piece.
